The NCHSAA Season is finally underway giving us a glimpse at some freshmen off to hot starts. Here's a look at six prospects on the rise in the 2024 class.

Jarin StevensonJarinStevenson6'8" | SFNorthwood | 2024NC | 6’8 Forward | Northwood

Stevenson has put up 20 points each in Northwood High’s first two games of the season and he’s just a freshman. He’s shot 14-of-19 (74 percent) through the first two games while producing 20.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 1.5 spg. He’s slowly emerging as a top prospect in the class of 2024.

Drake PowellDrakePowell6'5" | CGNorthwood | 2024NC | 6’5 Guard/Wing | Northwood

Powell had a quiet debut varsity game for Northwood but he went off for 17 points of 7-of-12 shooting against Southern Durham, though they came in a three point loss. He also had six rebounds, six assists and four steals, showing off his ability to contribute in a variety of ways. He’s another freshman at Northwood on the rise.

The Wayne Prep Generals have some prospects on the rise and one of those names is A’Mari LathamA’MariLatham6'5" | CWayne Prep | 2024NC. He’s producing 11.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.6 spg and 2.0 bpg
