Hayden Doyle Hayden Doyle 6'0" | CG Brookfield East | 2021 State WI (6’2 2021 G, Brookfield East)- Brookfield East continued their impressive start to the year, with Hayden Doyle Hayden Doyle 6'0" | CG Brookfield East | 2021 State WI dominating in a win over Fond du Lac. He put up 35 points in an extremely efficient fashion, scoring the ball in a variety of ways. Hayden was dangerous catching the ball in the paint or on the block, and using his patience and footwork to create clean looks either going at the rim or fading away and shooting over his man. Hayden also showed off his athleticism with a put-back dunk, and just a minute later he picked up his man full-court, picked his pocket, and elevated for a two hand slam. Washington University in St. Louis is getting a big time player in Hayden.
Carter Capstran Carter Capstran 6'6" | PF Franklin | 2021 State WI (6’6 2021 F, Franklin)- Carter has been one of the most consistent producers in the 2021 class over the last three years, simply dominating on the glass and finding ways to score in a variety of ways. In an overtime win over a tough Westosha Central squad, it was Carter who put in a big first half, and knocked down a contested three at the buzzer to send the game into OT. At 6’6 he has a physical frame that allows him to use his strength to score in the post, and he’s also extended his range to hit from three or mid-range off the bounce. Add in his improved mobility, and he’s a forward who should have high level D3’s and some D2’s watching closely this winter.
Kamari Mcgee Kamari Mcgee 6'0" | PG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State WI (6’ 2021 PG, Racine St. Catherine’s)- Kamari Mcgee Kamari Mcgee 6'0" | PG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State WI continues to prove that he’s one of the most efficient players in the state, helping lead his team to a 3-0 record on the week, including two close wins in the game I saw. Kamari put in a strong performance against Catholic Memorial, but most impressive was his second half in St. Cat’s comeback win over Martin Luther. Trailing by as many as 20 points in the second half, Kamari scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half to help his team pull off the win. Kamari was shooting lights out off the catch from three, and used his quickness and strength to dominate on the boards and pick up some clutch steals. Add in his vocal leadership on the floor, and he’s a big time pickup for UW-Green Bay.
Andrew Alia Andrew Alia 6'2" | SG Kenosha St. Joseph | 2022 State WI (6’2 2022 SG, Kenosha St. Joseph)- Andrew and his team sit at 2-0 on the year, and he helped his team pick up a key conference win over Martin Luther last week. I was able to catch the game film, and was really impressed with Andrew’s ability to read the close-out, and recognize whether to shoot the three or blow by and get to the rim. His body control while attacking baseline and then going up balanced to finish stood out to me as he finished with 20 points on the night. Andrew is a true three level scorer as he has the athleticism to attack the basket, is a major threat to pull-up from mid-range, and shot the ball at over 40% from 3P last season.
Joey Berezowitz (5’10 2021 PG, Burlington)- Burlington is looking like a real threat in the SLC this season, and Joey Berezowitz is a big reason why. He’s a really shifty ball handler who plays with a nice change of pace, and his threat to shoot from deep allows him to hesitate and then blow by his man to get to the rim. Without the ball in his hands, he works extremely hard to run off screens and find space on the perimeter, where he’s one of the best shooters you’ll find in southeastern Wisconsin. He hit some tough shots off the catch on his way to 21 points in a win over Wilmot, and also scored 31 in a win later in the week.
Quentin Bolton Quentin Bolton 6'5" | SF Shoreland Lutheran | 2021 State WI Jr. (6’6 2021 SF, Shoreland Lutheran)- Quentin got his season started off by scoring 18 points to help Shoreland Lutheran to a big win over KCL. His frame and athleticism is more than enough to catch the attention to colleges, and he adds in the ability to create off the dribble and score in a variety of ways. Quentin used his strength to power up for some finishes inside, and also showcased his athleticism with an open floor dunk and a few highlight rejections on the other end. He only played limited minutes in the big win, but also showed off his ability to break his man down off the dribble, and pull-up in his face from three or mid-range. Later in the week Quentin pulled in his first D2 offer from Northwood University.
Kenny Garth Kenny Garth 6'2" | CG Westosha Central | 2022 State WI (6’2 2022 CG, Westosha Central)- Kenny had a quiet performance in limited minutes during Westosha’s big win over Wilmot, but really impressed on Saturday against a tough Franklin squad. Kenny looks slightly more athletic this year, and used it to continually blow by his man off the dribble to get to the rim. Once there he’s an extremely crafty finisher who can absorb contact, or glide under the rim for a reverse lay-up. In transition he impressed on both ends with a dunk and a blocked shot off the backboard. Kenny also added in a corner three on his way to 20 points.
