Ty McGreevy (6’3 2022 G, Badger)- Though the team success hasn’t been there this season, Ty McGreevy has looked impressive for Badger. Putting up 18.8 ppg, Ty had 15 points facing a tough matchup against Elkhorn. I really like his length at the two guard spot, and he showed the ability to spot up from three or use his size to get into the paint and extend to finish. He’s a fundamentally sound player who can really score the ball, as well as defend multiple spots at the high school level, and I think he’ll continue to put up some big numbers in the SLC over the next two years.
Kael Stulo Kael Stulo 6'1" | CG Oak Creek | 2021 State WI (6’1 2021 PG, Oak Creek)- I think Kael is one of the most under-recognized players in the southeast corner of the state. He’s extremely shifty and plays with great change of pace that allows him to get to any spot on the floor that he wants. In games against Franklin and Wauwatosa West, he scored a combined 40 points while knocking down seven 3’s. He has a quick release that allows him to run hard off screens and get off a clean look before the chasing defender can contest. When in attack mode, he has a nice floater that he uses to finish over the top of length, or he can also zip a quick dump off pass to an open teammate. Defensively he provides energy and quick hands that allow him to sit on opposing ball handlers and force a couple of turnovers each game.
Greyson Pritzl Greyson Pritzl 6'3" | SG West Allis Central | 2022 State WI (6’3 2022 SG, West Allis Central)- An absolute sniper for West Allis Central, Greyson hit some tough shots against St. John’s NW Academies on Saturday. Greyson was pulling up from well beyond the three point line, and hitting from deep without having to change is shooting form. He was able to fire off shots quickly off the bounce, and showcased his ability to pump-fake and drive, using his shooting threat to open up lanes. Greyson hit a tough left handed floater in the lane, and finished with 15 points on the day.
Zaevion Wesley-Carter (6’5 2021 F, West Allis Central)- An emerging player for West Allis Central, Zaevion impressed on Saturday. A long and agile forward, I liked his aggressive style of play attacking the basket for points in the paint. He showcased soft touch on a baby hook shot, and was a high energy presence crashing the boards. That effort led to a few second chance buckets. Zaevion also showed off a nice turnaround jumper out of the block on his way to 10 points.
Marko Rajkovic Marko Rajkovic 6'5" | SF Franklin | 2021 State WI (6’5 2021 F, Franklin)- Perhaps better known for his work on the gridiron, Marko can also get it done on the hardwood. A tough and physical presence at 6’5, Marko showed no problem absorbing contact and remaining balanced to finish in a double overtime win against Oak Creek. His all-around athleticism allowed him to take opposing forwards off the dribble from the wing, or use his size as a mismatch against guards and bully them in the post. Marko showed poise and patience in the paint that allowed him to go up balanced to finish at a high rate. He also knocked down two free throws at the last second to give his team the one point win.
Coman Young Jr. (5’8 2022 G, Wauwatosa West)- Coman didn’t score a single point in Tosa West’s win over Oak Creek, but still managed to make this list based on his all-around contributions. Defensively he took over the task of face guarding Oak Creek’s best player in the second half, and limited his touches. His quickness allowed him to get through/around screens and stick to his man like glue. On the offensive end, he excelled in the role of his team’s facilitator, dishing out 8 assists while also pulling in an impressive 7 rebounds.
Tre Burris Tre Burris 5'8" | SG Martin Luther | 2021 State WI (6’1 2021 CG, Martin Luther)- Tre Burris Tre Burris 5'8" | SG Martin Luther | 2021 State WI has been one of the most exciting guards to watch this year, as he simply flies up and down the court making plays on both ends. In a conference win over Shoreland Lutheran, he finished with 14 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals. Scoring wise he uses his handle and shiftiness to break down defenders and accelerate through gaps to get to the rim to finish. He’s able to hang in the air to go up against size, and contort his body to finish in a variety of ways. Tre is also an excellent passer, making it seem like he has eyes in the back of his head as he throws accurate no look passes to the open man. Defensively he uses his quickness to jump passing lanes and sit on opposing ball handlers to disrupt the flow of their offense.
