Tanner Resch Tanner Resch 6'0" | PG Hamilton | 2021 State WI — 2021 — Sussex Hamilton
If there was a player of the week, I am almost positive that the award would go to Sussex Hamilton’s Resch. He scored 49 points (!) in his first game of the week in a win over Brookfield Central. Then, on Friday, the point guard put up 33 points. Resch is slowly proving that he is one of the best players in Wisconsin.
Casey Verhagen Casey Verhagen 6'0" | PG Sheboygan Area Lutheran | 2022 State WI — 2022 — Sheboygan Lutheran
I love how versatile Verhagen is. Whatever the team needs him to do, the point guard is ready to step up and do just that. He can pass, score, and play defense. In two games this week, Verhagen did a good job of getting buckets, as he put up 54 points. Verhagen will develop into a really good prospect at the next level.
Cal Klesmit Cal Klesmit 6'2" | CG Neenah | 2023 State #235 Nation WI — 2023 — Neenah
He only scored 15 points in Neenah’s win over Kimberly, but each point was enormous. Klesmit was 8-8 from the free-throw line and led the Rockets in scoring. The 2023 point guard has gotten off to a bit of a slow start this season, but on Friday, he proved that he can step up and perform in the biggest moments.
Tyrese Hunter Tyrese Hunter 5'11" | PG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State #63 Nation WI — 2021 — Racine St. Catherines
Hunter will look to have his name on this list every single week. In a huge win over a very good The Prairie School squad, the Racine St. Catherines point guard led his team to the win by scoring 31 points on 13 made field goals. At Iowa State, I think that Hunter will develop into a great player.
Kobe Johnson Kobe Johnson 6'5" | PG Nicolet | 2021 State #240 Nation WI — 2021 — Nicolet
Because James Graham James Graham 6'9" | SF Nicolet | 2021 #59 Nation WI left Nicolet early to head to Maryland, I don’t think that Johnson and the Knights are getting enough credit. Nicolet is 7-0 and the 6-foot-5 point guard has been playing really well. In his last game of the week, Johnson scored 22 points in a win over West Bend West.
Tre Valeriano Tre Valeriano 6'0" | PG Pius XI | 2021 State WI — 2021 — Pius XI
Valeriano didn’t have the most efficient week shooting wise, but I still think that he was very productive. In a loss to Pewaukee, Valeriano tallied 21 points. I was extremely impressed by Valeriano’s isolation scoring ability. Keep an eye on Valeriano for the rest of the season.
John Kinziger John Kinziger 6'0" | CG De Pere | 2023 State #257 Nation WI — 2023 — DePere
At the end of his career, I expect Kinziger to be known as one of the best pure scorers in the state. The point guard is a crafty scorer who is a complete player on the offensive end. In a win over Pulaski, Kinziger dropped 24 points.
