Here is a look at some of the top standouts from those championship games, which were held at Senath-Hornersville, Clarkton and Clinton (MRVC West).
Keyren Spiller Keyren Spiller 6'4" | SF Kansas City Central | 2021 State MO 6’4″ Center: The powerful 2021 wing scored 19 points to lead the Yellowjackets to an overtime victory over Warrensburg in the championship game of the MRVC West Tournament. He is a matchup problem with his physical body and guard skills. He can get to any spot on the floor that he wants to to make plays.
Blake Fowler Blake Fowler 5'11" | PG Campbell | 2021 State MO 5’11″ Campbell: The 2021 guard scored a game-high 35 points to lead the Camels to a 85-54 victory over Senath-Hornersville in the championship game of the Senath-Hornerville Christmas Tournament. Fowler put on a show in the second half when he got it going in long distance with five of his six 3-pointers. He is capable of scoring at all three levels plus he can move without the ball and score off screens and good cuts. He’s one of the top offensive threats in the SEMO area.
Trey Townsend 5’10″ Portageville: The quick 2022 guard scored 20 points in the Bulldogs’ 55-46 victory over East Carter in the championship game of the Clarkton Christmas Tournament. He hit the Corner 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to give the Bulldogs the lead to stay at 49-46. He was always looking to penetrate and put pressure on the defense with his quickness and determination.
Sam Pittensbarger 6’1″ Warrensburg: The scrappy 2021 guard scored a game-high 20 points in the overtime loss to Center in the MRVC championship game. He was hustling and making big plays throughout the game. He made a big 3-pointer late to put his team in position to force overtime. He scored on offensive rebounds and some excellent takes to the basket in traffic. If there was a play to be made last night for Warrensburg, he made it.
Parker Rhew 5’11″ Senath-Hornersville: The smooth 2021 lefty guard scored 27 points in his team’s loss to Campbell in the championship game of the Clarkton Tournament. He started off the game by swishing two 3-pointers from the left wing and went on to have a big game. He also had a 41-point game in the first round of the tournament. With time and space, he will knock down shots, but he also scored on some tough drives in the paint in a physical game.
Charlie Parker 6’3″ Campbell: A solid 2021 complimentary player to the high-scoring Fowler, Parker enjoyed a big game himself with 15 points while immersing himself in the action all over the court. He is flying around for rebounds, loose ball and steals while scoring on good cuts to the basket. He can also make a perimeter shot. A very high energy player who gets results.
