Tayshawn Bridges Tayshawn Bridges 6'2" | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2024 #86 Nation GA – 2024 – G – Brookfield East
Bridges had 19 points in a big win over Brookfield Central. The freshman just showed no fear from the opening tip in a high-level game and was better than expected. Bridges went right at Central’s studs and never took his foot of the gas pedal until he picked up his fourth foul relatively early in the second half. An explosive combo guard who’s just deadly in the isolation game, Bridges makes opponents pick their poison. If they sag off, he’ll knock down the 3. If they try and pressure him, Bridges has the blow-by ability and has no problems finishing against multiple defenders.
Myles Coleman – 2021 – SG – Brookfield Central
If Brookfield Central makes a run towards another state championship, I think Coleman will be a big reason why. An x-factor for the Lancers, Coleman was terrific defensively in a loss to Brookfield East. Facing a talented backcourt, Coleman had a ton of individual success and changed the game at multiple points by forcing his man into tough shots and creating some turnovers.
Hayden Doyle Hayden Doyle 6'0" | CG Brookfield East | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Brookfield East
At the half, Doyle had just four points, although East was leading 45-39. When it looked like Central was going to take the game, that’s when Doyle showed up. The Washington (St. Louis) commit scored 17 of his team-high 21 points after halftime to lead East to a thrilling victory. Doyle worked extremely hard off the ball to free himself for rhythm jumpers off screens. Doyle knocked down a flurry of shots in crunch time as the Spartans regained control. One of the top two-way players in the state, Doyle defended just about everyone for Central at one point or another as well.
David Joplin David Joplin 6'8" | SF Brookfield | 2021 State #54 Nation WI – 2021 – SF – Brookfield Central
Brookfield East didn’t have much of an answer for Joplin all night. The Texas commit scored 36 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Joplin was just automatic in the mid-range. Central does such a great job of getting Joplin touches in the high post, where double teams are hesitant to come that far from the rim. Joplin has a great face-up or fall away game and with his high release, just isn’t fazed by a hand in his face. Able to play on the wing or be an undersized ’4’, Joplin has mismatch potential at the next level and certainly looks like a favorite to win Mr. Basketball if he keeps this up.
Jalen Keago Jalen Keago 6'6" | SF Oshkosh North | 2021 State WI – 2021 – SF – Oshkosh North
The senior wing has terrific scoring potential at the next level. A three-level scorer, Keago can play 1-on-1 in the block, create off the dribble and shoot in the mid-range, and knock down catch-and-shoot 3-pointers. A smooth mid-range scorer, Keago is so good in the 12-18 foot range. A legit 6-4/6-5, Keago is one of the top sleepers in the state right now. He finished with 26 points against a very good Kimberly squad.

Ben Nau Ben Nau 6'1" | PG Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Brookfield Central
Nau had a strong all-around game in a loss to Brookfield East. The St. Thomas commit led his team back in the second half with a couple of steals that led to fast break points. Nau finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the loss. The 6-foot-1 guard is a terrific sniper from beyond the arc, but has drastically improved his point guard skills over the last two years. Also one of the top defenders in the state, Nau plays the passing lanes, locks his man up on the perimeter, and puts his body on the line each time out.
Owen Pawlikowski Owen Pawlikowski 6'3" | SG Kimberly | 2022 State WI – 2022 – W – Kimberly
Coming off a big summer, Pawlikowski has really elevated Kimberly this season and it won’t be long before the rest of the state knows his name. The junior scored 15 points in an easy win over Oshkosh North and did a variety of different things. The 6-foot-3 wing knocked down his open shots from beyond the arc, scored in transition, and defended the heck out of people. A strong, athletic prospect who can explode offensively and shut down people defensively, Pawlikowski is a big reason why the Papermakers might be better than last season’s loaded squad.
Jackson Paveletzke Jackson Paveletzke 6'1" | CG Kimberly | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Kimberly
Seen a lot of good performances. Paveletzke’s first half against Oshkosh North was definitely up there. The junior guard put up 28 points in one half alone as Kimberly ran away with an easy victory. Paveletzke finished with 35 total, able to do whatever he wants offensively. An extremely skilled bucket getter and facilitator, Paveletzke has a deep bag of tools and reacts on the ball as well as any player in this state. Also handling the point duties for the Papermakers, Paveletzke had around 6-7 assists as well. Paveletzke isn’t going to overwhelm anybody with size or athleticism, but he’s got a great scoring mentality/killer instinct, is always moving or without the ball, can score from any level and attack from either hand, and has tremendous touch on each shot type.

Matthew Schmainda Matthew Schmainda 6'2" | CG Brookfield East | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Brookfield East
Schmainda really settled the Spartans in against Brookfield Central and was a huge reason why they got off to such a great start. A strong and speedy guard, Schmainda made some heady plays and showed some stones with his shot making early in the ball game. Schmainda knows when to attack and when to settle for the outside shot. He played with a noticeable fearlessness throughout the game despite being an underclassman, not afraid to take risks on either end of the floor. Schmainda came up with 15 big points for East in their upset win.
Reed Seckar – 2022 – G – Oshkosh North
Maybe the biggest surprise this week, Seckar had 12 points in a loss to Kimberly. With his team facing a big deficit in the second half, Seckar came out and played like he had nothing to lose. The junior guard was a big bright spot for the Spartans and perhaps built some big confidence going forward. Seckar knocked down some tough, contested shots, took the ball to the rim, and finished off some off-balance layups
