Grant Asman Grant Asman 6'11" | PF Kimberly | 2021 State WI – 2021 – PF – Kimberly
Asman scored a team-high 17 points as Kimberly picked up a key road win at Pewaukee. The Lipscomb commit showed a very complete skillset throughout the night. The 6-foot-8 forward scored inside and out. He was able to generate post touches, take defenders off the dribble, drive and dish, and space the floor from 3-point range. An area that continues to be very underrated about Asman’s game is his defensive ability on the perimeter. Kimberly is comfortable with just about any switch as Asman as arguably the best lateral quickness among the state’s top senior big men.
Darrius Bolden – 2021 – PG – Nicolet
Bolden came on late to give the Knights some life after they trailed by 20 at one point in the second half. The senior guard scored most of his 12 points in the final minutes. Bolden was very effective in the press, breaking late on passes to force turnovers which led to transition buckets. A guy that’s been on our radar for a while, but isn’t ranked yet, Bolden plays with a noticeable chip on his shoulder. The lefty has quietly been an x-factor player for the Knights the last two seasons.
Jackson Dudek Jackson Dudek 6'7" | PF Kimberly | 2021 State WI – 2021 – PF – Kimberly
Dudek gave Kimberly a huge lift in the second half. Coming out of the locker room down 14 against Pewaukee, Dudek opened the second half with a thunderous slam that ignited a huge comeback as the Papermakers ended up outscoring the Pirates by 25 points after the break. Given all the talent on Kimberly’s roster, Dudek can fly under the radar, but he’s a nice college prospect that’s only getting better. Dudek had a strong build, can run the floor in transition and play above the rim, has good hands in traffic, and does some of the little things that really help get an offense in a flow. Using his football-size frame, Dudek does a great job of setting screens on and off the ball and then rolling to the hoop as a safety valve.
Nick Janowski Nick Janowski 6'3" | SG Pewaukee | 2024 State #126 Nation WI – 2024 – SF – Pewaukee
Good-looking freshman who’s advanced size and skill-wise right now. Janowski came in off the bench and did a lot of nice things for Pewaukee in their loss to Kimberly. Janowski certainly doesn’t play like a freshman and has plenty of confidence. He was on the floor for extended minutes in the second half against a Papermaker squad that very well could win a state title this season. Janowski has a very well-rounded game. You can play him anywhere on the perimeter. The lefty handles the ball well, sees the floor, can create jumpers or get to the rim, and has some tools defensively. He finished with 10 points in Wednesday’s loss.
Kobe Johnson Kobe Johnson 6'5" | PG Nicolet | 2021 State #240 Nation WI – 2021 – G – Nicolet
Johnson just came out and took things over early. The USC commit scored his team’s first 14 points and finished with a game-high 33 in a loss to Cedarburg. It wasn’t the best night for his teammates and Johnson kind of ran out of gas, but certainly showed why he’s a top 5-7 prospect in this high-level matchup. Johnson is really shooting the ball well and knocked down some tough step-back triples with a hand in his face. Always looking to make his teammates better and make the right basketball play, Johnson’s basketball IQ is second-to-none in Wisconsin’s 2021 class. A 6-foot-4 guard who can play on and off the ball, Johnson has been flirting with triple-doubles throughout the season and did a little bit of everything once again Tuesday night.
Logan Landers Logan Landers 6'9" | PF Cedarburg | 2021 State WI – 2021 – PF – Cedarburg
Landers had a very efficient and all-around performance to help Cedarburg top Nicolet with first place on the line in the North Shore Conference. The Kansas State commit looked really good as a face-up big. When he catches in the high post or short corner, Landers does a great job of waiting for the defender to put his hand down and then draining mid-range jumpers with a feathery touch. Landers also rebounded and distributed the ball at a high level. The 6-foot-9 had a handful of assists from the top of the key or while breaking the press and owned the defensive glass, particularly late once Drew Biber Drew Biber 6'3" | SF Cedarburg | 2021 State WI fouled out. Keeping the Bulldogs in the driver’s seat, Landers went 13-of-14 from the foul line en route to a team-high 25 points.
Milan Momcilovic Milan Momcilovic 6'8" | SF Pewaukee | 2023 State #44 Nation WI – 2023 – F – Pewaukee
Think Momcilovic is still the top player in the state and he can still get a lot better too and will when he adds some more muscle. The 6-foot-8 sophomore has some scary mismatch ability. Momcilovic can shoot the 3 and operate in the pick n’ pop game very well. Needs to tighten his handles and get more explosive on the ball, but with the right matchup, Momcilovic can take guys off the dribble. Really like him in that 6-8 foot range. Momcilovic has a terrific fall-away game from that area. What I like most about Momcilovic — he doesn’t try and be anything that he’s not. In today’s game, you too often see combo forwards obsessed with trying to prove they’re perimeter players. Momcilovic knows what his skillset is and how he can have success.
Jackson Paveletzke – 2022 – G – Kimberly
This kid can go and get you 30 points or 10 assists on any given night. Pewaukee did a great job of making Paveletzke work and take away his scoring. In the second half, Paveletzke decided to control the game as a facilitator. The junior guard just made every right play in the second half and his teammates flourished because of it. Still one of the state’s premier scorers, Paveletzke has a deep skillset and a killer instinct. He scored 16 points in Kimberly’s win and has been known to absolutely go off on opponents. Just one more reason to elevate his ranking after this season, Paveletke’s ability to lead and carry a team in other ways was extremely impressive.
Matthew Pilch – 2021 – SG – Cedarburg
Thought Pilch really stepped up in Cedarburg’s road win at Nicolet. The senior guard gave the Bulldogs 15 key points and just hit timely shot after timely shot. Nicolet did everything they could to speed up the pace and try and get Cedarburg uncomfortable. Pilch just never took the bait and passed up good shots in order to great ones after the Bulldogs could set up their offense.
Josh Terrian Josh Terrian 6'4" | SF Pewaukee | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SF – Pewaukee
If you talk to his coaches, Terrian is probably a guy they love working with. There’s just never a job too big or too small for the junior wing. Terrian had 14 points in Pewuakee’s loss to Kimberly. You can just feel how badly he wants to win every game. Whether it’s getting on the glass, scrapping for loose balls, or sacrificing his body and taking a charge, Terrian just gives it his all every time out. While he’s a blue collar player, Terrian can put up numbers. He’s a deadly 3-point shooter that will take advantage when there’s a hand down. He’s also got an advanced post skillset and creates mismatch opportunities on the block. Terrian may not have ideal athleticism, but I think he just brings too much too the floor and makes too many winning plays for a Division 2 program to pass on him.
