Continue Reading2020 has been an incredibly different year in many aspects, and the class of 2021 will always remember how odd their senior year was, and the battles they needed to overcome in order to have an opportunity to compete at the next level. The class of 2021 is stacked with lots of excellent talent and limiting this list down to only the top 3 has made me stay up very late at night and I believe my gray hair is beginning to grow in. That being said, there have been a lot of great players that have sadly been left off of this list, and I hope that they elevate their game to prove me wrong in this upcoming season. Continue reading for my personal top 3 players in the state of Idaho from the class of 2021 in no particular order.
Whit Miller Whit Miller 6'2" | SG Boise | 2021 State ID , Boise: The Brave are lucky to have Miller on the team as he is an excellent all-around player who can impact the game in an endless amount of ways. He is a gifted passer and finishes very well at the rim with either hand, but he can also step back and hit a jumper from downtown if need be. The College of Idaho commit has proven himself as one of the best players in the state and he will continue to show his skills and abilities in the 2020-21 season.
Caden McLean Caden McLean 6'0" | PG Post Falls | 2021 State ID , Post Falls: Caden is one of the best pure shooters in the state and he makes opposing defenses change their schemes in order to find new ways to cover him and try to take away any open looks. This kind of gravity that he carries has made him one of the biggest offensive threats in the state and he will be looking to improve his shooting percentage and point totals this year now that the majority of the offense will be run through him. McLean has the ability to get hot in a hurry and I would expect to see him have some really big games this season.
Benny Kitchel Benny Kitchel 6'3" | SG Moscow | 2021 State ID , Moscow: Perhaps a surprising addition to this list, Kitchel will be thrust into a much greater role for the Bears this season with the departure of Blake Buchanan Blake Buchanan 6'10" | PF Lake City | 2023 State #172 Nation ID . With this new role, Kitchel will be forced to shoulder the majority of the offensive and defensive weight for Moscow and he has proven himself worthy of the challenge. His post presence and ability to shoot from the perimeter will give him plenty of tools to fill the holes for Moscow and Kitchel is just the man for the job.
