KyeRon Lindsay KyeRon Lindsay 6'9" | PF Denton Guyer | 2022 State #112 Nation TX
Lindsay impressed me this summer as one of the few players that could check Lee Dort Lee Dort 6'10" | C Greenhill School | 2022 State #67 Nation TX on the block and be a mobile athlete. Now with his high school team, the offense runs through Lindsay making him a 6-7 primary ball handler. I don’t think this is his future position, but with the measurables and athleticism he possesses, getting him comfortable with the ball is going to do wonders for his future. As a face-up four with Southern Assault, Lindsay consistently knocked down elbow to 18-foot jumpers. With Guyer, he’s hitting those same shots as a pull-up shooter. The junior’s size is going to get him looks for his versatility, and the way he moves will get him offers.
Bobby McWard
Bobby had big games all summer long with his 15U 3D Empire squad. Shooting and late-game heroics made him one of my favorite 2023 newcomers. McWard is listed at 6-2 or 6-3 and looks every bit of it when he’s standing at the top of the key. He does it all for his undersized McKinney Christian team. The shooting he showed this summer is showing up on film as well. McWard is shaping up to be a high volume and high-efficiency shooter from deep, especially when playing against zones. He’s a good passer that uses ball movement to shift defenses before making a move and finding an open man on the move or in the corner. The Texas 2023 class already has a deep lineup of lead guards, and McWard definitely deserves a mention in the bunch.
Walker Timme Walker Timme 6'5" | PF J.J. Pearce | 2021 State TX
Timme has always been a solid post prospect thanks to size for the power forward and a sweet set of feet. I’ve always questioned the athleticism, but a slim and trim Timme has answered that with explosive movement on both sides of the ball. He still doesn’t blow you away athletically, but the burst he put forward leads to winning plays. I first noticed it on defense when a would-be slasher stepped in the paint and Timme flashed to a spot just in front that lead to a stop. The next happened as the 2021 recruit flashes solid open court ball skills for a coast to coast fast break that saw him blow by defenders in transition. Timme still does all the work in the post that made him a college prospect, now he’s a bit quicker on the draw.
