A couple of the top wing players in the SEMO Conference, 2021 Andrew Ellinghouse Andrew Ellinghouse 6'4" | SG Dexter | 2021 State MO of Dexter and 2023 Rico Coleman of Charleston were either limited or unavailable during the tournament due to injuries. The 6’4″ Ellinghouse is an excellent shooter while the 6’3″ Coleman is averaging 24 points a game and just received a Division I offer from Louisiana-Monroe.
Jadis Jones 6’5″ New Madrid Central: The talented 2024 Jones was arguably the most impressive player at the tournament as he helped lead the Eagles to the championship. He is a skilled ball handler who can slash to the basket, hit jumpers and make good decisions with the basketball. He is also a very active offensive rebounder who finished well at the rim. He’s quite a young talent.
Leroy Atkins 6’1″ Sikeston: A 2021 guard who has become the new go-to guy for the Bulldogs. He had a couple of games where he scored more than 20 points. He has a sweet stroke from 3-point range and he can score in a hurry when he gets hot. He is also a nice athlete who will get out and throw down a dunk in transition.
Darion Triplett 6’4″ Cape Girardeau Central: A strong physical 2021 wing player who was tough when he was able to get to the basket, where he could use his physical strength. He scored 14 in the game I watched against Poplar Bluff. He was able to get himself to the free throw line and pound the offensive glass.
Elliott Cowell 6’3″ Jackson: A solid 2022 wing player who was consistently scoring in double figures for the Indians throughout the tournament. He shoots the ball well but he is also constantly on the moves and making plays without the ball in his hands.
Jon Brattner 6’5″ Cape Girardeau Central: A solid 2022 wing player with good size and the ability to knock down shots from 3-point range. He looked good in his first varsity action as a starter and he is just going to get better with more experience. He can also handle the ball well and pass it.
