What if the sleigh was Michigan high school basketball’s junior class? Who would pulling the sleigh? Here are my example of 9 juniors leading the way.
Who would be pulling the sleigh in the senior class? See below.
Pulling The Sleigh – The Seniors
Derek Bolton III Derek Bolton III 6'4" | CG Roseville | 2022 State MI (CG, Detroit Cristo Rey)
Bolton III has flown under the radar a bit, but we want that on our team pulling the sleigh. He plays with an edge and has that desire to prove his doubters wrong.
Max Burton Max Burton 6'10" | SF Williamston | 2022 State MI (SF, Williamston)
In order to pull the sleigh, we have to have some physically gifted guys. Burton is just that. He has excellent positional size and soft hands and handles.
Jason Drake Jason Drake 6'2" | CG Ferndale | 2022 State MI (CG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
We want an all around athlete to help pull Michigan basketball, so Drake would be a great fit. He can get up and down the court and has some wiggle to free from defenders.
Cooper Fairman Cooper Fairman 6'3" | SF Saline | 2022 State MI (SF, Saline)
We all love comeback stories, specially in the Holiday season. This will be a classic. Fairman was playing outstanding basketball before an injury sidelined him. I know Fairman, and he WILL come back better than ever.
Calvin Marshall Calvin Marshall 6'6" | SF Western International | 2022 State MI (SF, Detroit Edison)
We need elite athletes to pull the Michigan sleigh. I’d take Marshall to fill that requirement. He’s a high flier that can be nasty in transition.
Ty Rodgers Ty Rodgers 6'6" | SF Grand Blanc | 2022 #34 Nation IN (SF, Grand Blanc)
A superstar that’s also a team first type of guy? Perfect for this team of players. Rodgers is, quite simply, one of the top players in the country. But he takes more pride in his team and teammates success than he does in his own accolades.
Evan Solomon Evan Solomon 6'3" | PG Charlevoix | 2022 State MI (PG, Charlevoix)
We need a leader to be the head of the snake, so to say. Solomon can be that guy. He’s a terrific floor general that feels the game.
Nathan Steinman Nathan Steinman 6'1" | CG Clarkston | 2022 State MI (CG, Clarkston)
We have to have a rising prospect on our team that pulls Michigan high school basketball. Steinman is a big up and comer and a player that’s on the verge of a breakout season.
Charles Turner Charles Turner 6'5" | CG University Of Detroit Jesuit And Academy | 2022 State MI (CG, UD Jesuit)
If your going to pull this sleigh, you have to have an all around game and mental toughness. Turner has both of those things. He’s a 2 way player that plays under control and with poise.
