GAME BREAKDOWN
This would be a classic game and a battle of wills. The 2022 team would be tough inside with the combination of Ethan Dunn Ethan Dunn 6'10" | C Elevation Prep | 2022 IN (who belongs way closer to the top 15) and upstart Gillespie. That’s quite possibly a future D1 frontcourt. Broughton, Wallace, and Watters are a scary combination on the perimeter. Broughton is an attacking guard, Wallace is silky smooth, and Watters is a terrific 2 way player. The bench has ball handlers like Johnson, a high level wing in Mutebi, and a tough post player with Bowens.
The 2023 team will try to win the game with speed, versatility, and a tremendous perimeter game. Briggs and Allen are a nasty backcourt. Briggs will create and Allen will man up on defense. Nichols and Jamison would be a nasty combo of forwards that can both shoot and finish at the rim. Both had incredibly impressive grassroots and showcase seasons. Hazelton may be undersized guarding a center, but he’s a matchup nightmare in his own right with his ability to stretch the D. The second unit, led by Amont’e Allen-Johnson Amont’e Allen-Johnson 6'1" | PG Dream City Christian | 2023 State AZ , might be just as good as the first.
