Preseason Player of the Year:
Maddox Decker Maddox Decker 5'9" | PG Santa Fe Trail | 2021 State KS , senior, Santa Fe Trail:
Decker received honorable mention 3A as a junior with 17 points a game, to go with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals an outing. Though just 5-foot-9, Decker is a playmaker.
Returning stars:
Kaden O’Neil, senior, Wellsville
The 6-foot-2 O’Neil registered honorable mention 3A, scoring 12 points a game.
Jackson Showalter, senior, Wellsville:
O’Neil’s 6-foot-1 running mate at Wellsville, Showalter also accounted for 12 points a game last year.
Landon Carson, senior, Iola:
An all-leaguer last season, Carson is a 6-foot-1 multi-sport star. He can score points in bunches and will help Iola build on their 12-10 record a year ago.
Players to watch:
Reece Katzer, junior, Anderson County:
The 6-foot-7 athlete bears watching to see his development this season. He has the agility and length to be a top-flight big man.
Josh Robbins, junior, Prairie View:
Robbins turned in a really good sophomore season, putting up 10.7 points and pulling down 4.9 boards per game.
