sJustin Turner sJustin Turner 6'0" | SG Eastport South Manor | 2022 NY | 2022 | Eastport South Manor | New York Lightning Select
When looking at Turner’s film, it’s clear that Turner is the right type of player to play the point guard position. Turner is able to be a great passer, not just distributing the ball among the perimeter, but being able to get the ball through the first level into the paint, contracting the defense and allowing the offense to flow better. Turner has his own offense as well, with a respectable drive and a three-point shot.
Taylor Perlmutter | 2023 | LaSalle | Riverside
Taylor Perlmutter is only a sophomore with two full years of high school basketball waiting for him after this one, but everything about him already screams “College Ready.” Perlmutter’s shooting arc and release already represent that of a fine-tuned professional, and his shooting in-game looks pretty professional as well. Perlmutter can function with the ball in his hands, being able to consistently make it to the rim, and his high basketball IQ let him make smart passes beneficial to himself and his team. To top it all off, Perlmutter has been shooting the lights out in the classroom, sporting a nearly impossible 3.955 GPA. Definitely expect not only more Division 1 interest but Division 1 offers to be headed his way.
Mike Gitz | 2023 | Commack | Nassau Pride
Mike Gitz has been focused on shooting, shooting, and shooting. His quick release allows him to get comfortable and accurate shots on defenders looking to close out on him. He can shoot off both the dribble and quickly off a pass, and he knows where to go to get his open shot. He can take his game inside and play through the lanes as well as set up teammates for the score.
Kevin Dinkins Jr Kevin Dinkins Jr 6'0" | SG Thurgood Marshall | 2020 State NY . | 2020 | Thurgood Marshall
Kevin Dinkins Jr Kevin Dinkins Jr 6'0" | SG Thurgood Marshall | 2020 State NY . has always played with an aggressive drum on the court. He doesn’t just take the ball into the paint to do so, he takes hard dribbles and athletic movements to get the ball in the hoop. Dinkins is great at controlling the tempo of the court and can continuously pound the interior for a score. His shooting makes his defenders not play too cautious, thus giving his dribble even more power.
Johan Nziemi | 2021 | Woodstock
Johan Nziemi is the latest of a long line of New York stars to attend Woodstock in Connecticut, and his talent only shows why Woodstock is a basketball powerhouse. Nziemi, with a long (and I mean long) wingspan, is able to be a great defender against other guards and forwards. His size does not diminish his versatility either, as Nziemi is able to still drive to the rim with crafty finisher, shoot from the outside, and make smart passes to others.
