Basketball in northeast Kansas heads to the holidays with some standout performances:

The big man in the middle has been the model of consistency for the Tigers. He does what’s needed, and on Friday that was 22 points in a win over Sabetha.

Fred CriquiFredCriqui6'7" | CSt. Marys | 2022StateKS, junior, St. Marys (pictured):

The 6-foot-7 Criqui has been waiting for his breakout game. He had it against Silver Lake, hitting 10 field goals to put up 27 in a 63-38 blasting of the Eagles.

Avery GatzemeyerAveryGatzemeyerPGValley Falls | 2022StateKS, junior, Valley Falls:

Gatzemeyer has been incredibly consistent this season. He has scored at least 13 in each game. Friday he hit six 3-pointers in a valiant effort against Pleasant Ridge.

Braden Heins, junior,Northern Heights:

The Wildcats are having a tough time defending their Flint Hills League title, but Heins is doing all he can. He hit four 3-pointers and scored 22 in a loss to Central Heights.

Nothing big. Just another 20 point game for Mayo against SM North. He now has point totals of 28, 22, 23, and 20 for the season.
