Max Schnelle 6’4″ Lockwood: A robust 210-pound 2021 guard who is the main ball handler and facilitator for a big and beefy Lockwood team that is one of the best in Class 1. He is a skilled ball handler and he can move up and down the court with pace when he wants to. He’s a tough cover when he gets around the basket with his size, but he can also knock down perimeter shots. He scored 28 points in a game I watched last week against Jasper.
Cole Keller 6’5″ Grain Valley: A very active 2021 forward who plays with a tremendous motor at both ends of the court. He is an excellent shot blocker with good length and timing. He knows to the the second man off the floor to keep from fouling. He catches the ball well and scores in the post and rebounds at a high level. He is running the court and always moving.
Leroy Atkins 6’1″ Sikeston: A 2021 guard who is taking on a big load at Sikeston as the program retools after graduating several excellent players the past two years. He is one of the best 3-point shooters in Southeast Missouri and he will let it fly from anywhere. He also displayed his athleticism during last week’s SEMO Conference Tournament with some impressive dunks in transition.
Zane Gayle 6’5″ Galena: A 2021 forward who transferred over from Spokane for his senior season. The versatile performer recently scored his 1,000th career point. He has a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range and the size to go inside and get buckets in the paint.
Matt Nelson 6’5″ Kingston: A productive 2022 post player who has been making it happen in the Parkland area. He had a 47-point outing as a sophomore. He is tough to handle in the post with his mobility and touch around the basket. He is also a solid shot blocker.
