Northeastern @ Blackford – 12/15/2020
Jackson Wors (Blackford) (2024) – 6’3″ SG: Wors was outstanding for Blackford in this one. The freshman got is a bigger, physical guard, which is good to see from a player this young. He was able to get to the rim consistently throughout the game, and he absorbed contact to get to the rim 6 times. He also showed off his outside shooting going 2-2 from behind the three-point line. The 19 point performance tied his career-high in his short high school career, but his physical play style gives him the potential to be a good player for Blackford in the future.
Fort Wayne Snider vs. South Bend Riley – 12/19/2020
Karson Jenkins Karson Jenkins 6'1" | PG Fort Wayne Snider | 2022 State IN (Fort Wayne Snider) (2022) – 6’2″ SG: Karson is a smaller guard, but he has the quickness and scoring ability to do quite a bit for Snider this season. He has a quick first step on his drives, and he showed off quite a few finishing moves around the rim. His go-to is the finger-roll, and he has that nearly mastered. He also hit a couple of threes in this one. The only thing that Jenkins seemed to struggle with was his free throw shooting. He was 1-3 from the line and missed a crucial front end of a one and one in overtime.
Aidan Lambert (Fort Wayne Snider) (2022) – 6’2″ SG: Lambert was very good for Snider as well. He was the main ball handler in this game, and he showed off great handling ability as well as the ability to get to the rim. He was able to use his quickness to get to the rim and finish through contact inside. Along with his scoring ability, he showed off his athleticism with quickness on the defensive end and a very big vertical to sky for rebounds. Lambert’s athleticism gives him tons of potential, and the duo of Lambert and Jenkins will be very good in the years to come.
Central Noble vs. DeKalb – 12/19/2020
Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN (Central Noble) (2022) – 6’2″ SG: Essegian was the best player on the court in this game, and he got absolutely anything he wanted all game. He was outstanding at scoring the ball, just like he has been all year, and he showed that he can score in many different ways. He was 4-6 from behind the three-point line. He finished through contact inside, and he got to the line 9 times and made 8. Essegian is the motor for this Central Noble team, and if he plays well, Central Noble will play well.
Portage vs. Warsaw – 12/19/2020
Kamari Slaughter Kamari Slaughter 6'2" | SG Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Portage) (2023) – 6’2″ SG: Slaughter is one of the top sophomores in the state, and he showed us that his game has a lot of room to grow. He showed off his quickness by getting up and down the floor, but he needs to learn to not go too fast. He also was aggressive on the glass on both ends of the floor, grabbing 8 boards. He struggled shooting the ball in this one, but he made a couple of moves inside that looked very impressive. Slaughter has potential, but being the young player that he is, he is destined to make some mistakes.
Jaxson Gould Jaxson Gould 6'3" | SG Warsaw | 2023 State IN (Warsaw) (2023) – 6’1″ SG: Gould was outstanding in this game. He made plays all game, and he controlled the offense for the Tigers. Gould’s quickness and his shiftiness make the small guard very tough to defend. He doesn’t have the most consistent outside shot, but his inside scoring ability on drives is great. He finishes over the bigger players inside, and he doesn’t shy away from contact. Gould will be a player to watch in the future, and he will be leading the Tigers for years to come.
Homestead vs. South Bend St. Joseph – 12/19/2020
Fletcher Loyer Fletcher Loyer 6'4" | SG Homestead | 2022 State #108 Nation IN (Homestead) (2022)– 6’5″ SG: Loyer transferred in from a Michigan high school during the offseason, and he will be a big key to Homestead’s success this season. The Purdue commit was lights-out shooting in the first half, going 5-6 from the outside. It seemed like the entire Homestead team couldn’t miss a shot in the first half. Playing the point, Loyer also showed off some great passing ability, driving inside and kicking to the open man. He has a natural knack for the game, and the duo of Goode and Loyer may be the top-scoring duo in the state. Homestead is going to have high hopes this season.
