Bloomington South: vs Bedford North Lawrence 12/4
Joseph Bomba Joseph Bomba 6'4" | SF Bloomington South | 2021 State IN – 6’4 2021 SG/SF: Bomba was the standout player for this game. Dropped 21 points and was just playing all over the court on the offense. Best part of Bomba’s game has to be his quick trigger behind the arc. If a defender gives him just the tiniest bit of room, he is going to get his shot off. Smart enough to take advantage of the mismatches on offense and has the size to guard multiple spots on defense. Bomba should continue to be the main player for South as the season continues.
Jalen Peck – 5’8 2021 PG: Peck is a smaller yet speedy lead guard. Solid at doing everything a point guard should be able to do. Sees the floor well and can distribute the ball. Capable shooter from behind the arc off the catch. Not going to do anything crazy with the ball but does enough to run the offense and set up his teammates for buckets. Even with a few players coming back into the South lineup, Peck should continue to play a major role for the Panthers.
Mitchell: vs Eastern Greene 12/5
Nick Mundy – 6’0 2022 SF: Mundy is a taller wing with a ton of aggressiveness and a high motor. Attacks the rim from the top of key with a lot of toughness and finished pretty well. Does not look to have a jump shot right now but that could come with some more work. What I really love about Mundy is how much hustle he plays with. Never takes a play off and is always going full speed at anything he does. Underrated junior to keep an eye on here.
Alec Barlow – 5’8 2021 PG: Barlow is a smaller lead guard with good court awareness. Pretty quick and a capable shooter with a smooth shot. Gets to the rim pretty well and does a good job kicking the ball out to a teammate. You can tell by watching Barlow that he is going to be a huge part of Mitchell’s offense as the season continues.
Kade Wigley – 5’9 2023 PG/SG: Wigley was the standout player for me this game. Smaller guard but can do pretty much everything. Great shooter from behind the arc, especially off the catch. Made some good cuts to the rim. Just a real aggressive player on both ends. Main thing for him will be adding some strength but overall there is a lot of potential in Wigley. Kid just plays so hard.
Eastern Greene: vs Mitchell 12/5
Sam Rees Sam Rees 6'1" | SG Eastern Greene | 2021 State IN – 6’1 2021 SG: Rees is a taller shooting guard who is just a natural scorer. Can score at all three levels and does so with consistency. Plays well both on and off the ball and scores so well off the catch. I know it has only been a few months but he looks to have added some size since we last saw him at the senior showcase. Rees has improved so much over the years both talent-wise and physically.
Bryan Rippy Bryan Rippy 6'5" | C Eastern Greene | 2022 IN – 6’5 2022 C: Rippy was another standout player for me this game. Just a monster in the post and did not have anybody that could stop him down there. Surprisingly he is also a solid outside shooter as he had a sequence where he knocked down back-to-back 3s. Rippy is a special big just on the fact that he is strong and can stretch the floor. This is a prospect you need to watch out for these next couple of years because he could be one of the best bigs in his class.
