Continue ReadingComing into tonight’s game Our Redeemer’s was 1-1 on the young season. This was Shiloh Christian’s first game of the season. It was a fast-paced game throughout. Both teams did not shoot a great percentage in the first half, but they did pick it up in the second half. Full-court pressure was the name of the game for both teams on D to start. This led to an up and down game. It was not very sloppy, but there were a few turnovers. Each team went on their own mini-run in the first quarter and knocked down a few 3’s. To end the first quarter Shiloh led 26 -25. The second quarter was more of the same. It was fast and intense with an entertaining flow to watch. Shiloh led at half 26-25.
The second half started with the Knights running a very nice backdoor set for a wide-open layup to Zach Hendrickson Zach Hendrickson 6'0" | PG Our Redeemer's | 2022 State ND . The second half was more physical and fouls increased, but the teams were better on offense. Our Redeemer’s had a big third quarter on the O-end scoring 24 points. At the end of the third quarter, they were up 49-45. Shiloh continued to press throughout the second half, and it seemed to wear down the Knights a bit. The 1-2-1-1 caused a few turnovers, but it was more effective at disrupting the Knights’ timing and flow on offense. Shiloh went 10 deep and stayed fresh. Shiloh would pressure after makes and push it up the court hard after Redeemer’s would score on the other end. The Knight’s got into some foul trouble in the 4th which hurt them. Shiloh hit big shots late and came up with some monster stops. Carter Englund Carter Englund 6'7" | PF Shiloh Christian | 2022 State ND was great at the foul-line late in the game and finished off the Knights. I expect both teams to win many games this year. Both teams played well and kept turnovers to a minimum. Check these teams out, they play exciting basketball!
Game Takeaways – Shiloh is deep and athletic. They played 10 players throughout the game. Shiloh is great on the O-boards, they crash hard. Our Redeemer’s ran a few nice sets and executed them to perfection. They could be lethal late in the year on O running sets. Both teams are athletic and have multiple guards that are athletic and well-rounded players.

(2022) |6-6 F| Shiloh Christian – Very impressed with his offensive rebounding, he never quits. He was clutch late with his free-throw shooting. Carter sealed the deal at the line. I was impressed with him on defense as a rim protector and he had a few timely blocked shots. With under a minute Carter got an offensive rebound off a missed FT and finished it with a put-back that put the nail in the coffin.
Jay Wanzek Jay Wanzek 6'7" | PF Shiloh Christian | 2023 State ND (2023) |6-5 F| Shiloh Christian – Big thick player. He is a solid role player who does not force anything. Jay works hard on defense and is a good O-rebounder. He made a big-time 3 late in the fourth quarter.
Khael DeCoteau (2021) |6-2 G| Shiloh Christian – Nice stroke from beyond the arc. I think he will be the best shooter for the Skyhawks this season.
Luke Wanzek Luke Wanzek 6'2" | SG Shiloh Christian | 2021 State ND (2021) 6-2 G| Shiloh Christian – Lefty who is an athletic slasher. He can shoot the 3 as well. He hit a big jump-shot late in the 4th quarter.
Patrick Wrigley (2021) |6-2 G| Shiloh Christian – An athletic guard. He is a playmaking hard-working athlete. Patrick looked to be effective on both ends of the floor tonight.
Our Redeemer’s
Jonah Ringstad (2021) |5-10 G| Our Redeemer’s – Aggressive with the dribble and penetrating gaps. He does a nice job at breaking down the defense. Jonah is quick and pushes the tempo on offense.
Levi Weekley (2021) |6-4 F| Our Redeemer’s – Tall slim post player with a long wingspan. He is a versatile player. Levi can dribble it, pass it, shoot it, and post up. He can even step outside and hit a 3. Expect a big year from Levi. The Knights’ do not have much size, so #33 is a vital piece of the puzzle.
Tanner Swenson (2021) |6-0 G| Our Redeemer’s – Confident quality 3-point shooter. He is a nice athlete that is good in transition. Between him and Hendrickson, the Knights have 2 legitimate shooters.
William Sanders (2021) |5-10 G| Our Redeemer’s – Quick speedy guard. He sees the floor well and has a solid shot. William is a solid on-ball defender.
Zach Hendrickson Zach Hendrickson 6'0" | PG Our Redeemer's | 2022 State ND (2022) |5-11 G| Our Redeemer’s – Looked to be the most skilled guard on the court tonight. He has a beautiful shot from 3 with range and a nice pull-up inside the arc. Zach has great handles. He slashed into the lane with ease most of the night. Expect Zach to have a great season for the Knights and to tally up many W’s throughout the year.
