All across the state of Kansas are kids who excel at more than one sport. At risk of overlooking any of these notable high schoolers, here are a handful of basketball stars who were recognized for their all-state performance on the gridiron recently:

Nikko Taylor Nikko Taylor 6'6" | SF Blue Valley North | 2021 State KS , senior, Blue Valley North:

An impressive post/wing who is a phenomenal passer for a big man, Taylor earned first team 6A as a lineman.

Jordan Brown Jordan Brown 6'4" | SG Free State | 2022 State KS , senior, Basehor-Linwood (pictured):

One of the top basketball players in the 2021 class excelled on the football field as well. Brown earned first team 4A as an end.

Brooks Whaley, senior, Rock Creek:

A 5-foot-9 do-everything dynamo for Rock Creek, Whaley averaged 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals a game last year. On the football field, he earned first team 3A as an end.

Bo Reeves, senior, Rossville:

The 6-foot-5 post player makes a fine end on the football field. He earned first team 2A.

Torrey Horak, junior, Rossville:

Injury kept him from making a bigger name on the court last year. But Horak was dynamite on the football field, early Top 11 honors and first team 2A.

Jordan Barnard, senior, Olpe:
