Continue ReadingI got a chance to enter the Grind Session Bubble, or Mini Bubble as the case may be. It was a great opportunity to see some of the nation’s top players competing. I also got a chance to witness several high-level PG’s. In this article, PH takes a look at the top 5 floor generals from the event.
Simon Wheeler Simon Wheeler 5'8" | PG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2022 State AZ 5’9 PG Bella Vista 2021 – Wheeler is an absolute blur. He may only be about 5’9 but in reality, height is just a number when it comes to his game. The lightning-fast PG was impossible to stay in front of all week. He showed next-level vision along with a creative ability to deliver the basketball.
Jordan Pope Jordan Pope 6'1" | PG Prolific Prep | 2022 State #194 Nation CA-N 6’1 Prolific Prep 2022 – Pope did a good job of playing the position. He handled against pressure and was able to get paint touches off the bounce. He also served as a floor spacer, knocking down several 3’s when the defense collapsed on the bigs of Prolific.
Milos Uzan 6’3 Prolific Prep 2022 – I thought Uzan was absolutely brilliant all weekend. He checked every box that I look for in a PG. He handled against pressure, made sure his team got good shots each time down and executed set offense. He even added some bonus boxes with his newfound explosive leaping ability. The former DP star was the top overall floor general I saw last week.
Ricky Bradley Jr 6’3 Eduprize 2021 – Bradley is more of a combo guard, but for the purposes of this article he’s a 1. Loved his on-ball defense as well as his grit and toughness. Hard not to love a kid who thrived off making the big play for his team at the biggest moments of the game.
Brett Hardt Jr Brett Hardt Jr 6'4" | PG Phhoenix Prep | 2021 State AZ 6’3 Phoenix Prep 2021 – BHJ is quickly going on my all polarizing team. I hear constant talk about what he can’t do. Here’s what he does. He can handle, is a crafty passer, and has good size for the position. He also can create for himself off the bounce, granted it’s usually a 15-foot pullup, but it’s his move and he’s effective with it. I’d take him on my team any day.
