John Mobley Jr 5’11 PG Vegas Elite 2024 – JMJ proved to be one of the most versatile shooters at the event. He shot it well off the bounce, using his exceptional handle to free himself from defenders. He also made them from deep, flirting with “In The Gym Range” on some of his shots.
DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV 6’0 PG West Coast Rebels 2024 – Thomas is elite at so many other things that you forget that he’s also a knockdown shooter. He was automatic from distance and showed that he can get his shot off quickly off the dribble.
Melo Sanchez Melo Sanchez 6'4" | CG Mater Dei Catholic | 2021 State CA-S 6’4 SG Gamepoint 2021 (featured image) – Sanchez wasn’t even touching the rim on some of his shots. He was one of the weekend’s top corner specialist, consistently burying 3’s from both the right and left corners.
Jalen Cunningham Jalen Cunningham 6'3" | SG Coronado | 2021 State NV 6’2 SG SFBA 2021 – When Cunningham shoots it with confidence, he becomes a much better player overall. He had his confidence working this week. Knocking down multiple 3’s in every game he played. The 6’2 wing has a textbook stroke, and showed a consistent release and follow through.
Elijah Knudsen 5’10 PG SW Weld County Elite 2022 – Knudsen is just a player. He has major wiggle to his game and can shoot the ball off the bounce from deep. His best move was his snatch back dribble, which left several defenders flailing. that was usually all the space he needed to knock down shots.
Daniel Esparza Daniel Esparza 6'2" | SG Sonora | 2021 State CA-S 6’3 SG Veritas 2021 – I’ve seen quite a bit of Esparza over the last couple of weeks. What I liked about him this weekend was his ability to make mid-range shots. A dangerous shooter, Esparza was run off the line quite a bit, however, he managed to compensate by dribbling in, squaring his shoulders, and knocking down several 15-18 footers.
Colby Wood 5’10 PG A-Train 2022 – The unassuming lefty was lethal all week. Wood served as a floor spacer, burying several 3’s when defenders were late to rotate. He knocked down the majority of his shots in catch and shoot action.
