In this article, a follow up to our local standouts part 1, we take a look at some local players that stood out during the event.
Coleman Lemke Coleman Lemke 6'7" | PF Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV 6’7 PF Team Rogue 2021 – Lemke played sparingly for TR, but when he did, he brought his strap. He showed why he’s a D1 player, burning 3’s at a dizzying clip. It was more than just in catch and shoot situations as well, the 6’7 stretch 4 knocked down 3’s in pick and pop action, as well as off the bounce.
Gabe Howe Gabe Howe 6'0" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2021 State NV 6’0 PG Team Rogue 2021 – Howe’s energy and effort was palpable. The PG did a good job of pressuring opposing guards, as well as putting pressure on them with his offense. He got paint touches and overall did a solid job of playing the position for Team Rogue.
Isaiah Dahl Isaiah Dahl 6'4" | SG Elko | 2022 State NV 6”3 SG Elko 2022 – Dahl is an intriguing prospect. He has nice size for the position and most importantly a major skill. Dahl shot 3’s at a high clip. His floor spacing ability allowed him to be the Robin to his teammate Michael Klekas Michael Klekas 6'3" | SF Elko | 2022 State NV ‘s Batman all weekend.
Kiree Huie 6’9 PF Desert Valley Prep 2021 – I was impressed with Huie. He played with great effort and showed that he is capable of rebounding the ball at a high clip. Huie is a big body that carves out space but also has good second jump explosiveness, allowing him to grab a rebound and quickly go back up and score.
Damion Byrd Damion Byrd 5'10" | PG Silverado | 2022 State NV 5’11 PG OTTG 2022 (featured image) – Love the progress that DB is making. Though he displayed a good floor game throughout the weekend. Byrd finished in the lane and defended at a high level, however, I thought his most important trait was his ability to keep his team in games. Although giving up size and experience in most of their games, Byrd’s leadership and decision-making allowed OTTG to be competitive in all their contest throughout the weekend.
Zaba Bengala 6’7 SF SFBA 2021 – The transfer from Sweden showed some good 1 on 1 skills. He has college wing size and showed the ability to shoot it from 3 as well as put the ball down and create for himself.
Kollin Ngo Kollin Ngo 6'2" | CG Silverado | 2023 State NV 5’10 CG All Vegas 2023 – I was impressed with Ngo. He has a better than average handle. The young combo showed good wiggle along with the ability to finish with both hands around the rim.
