Hadyn Bieling, senior, Council Grove:
The 0-2 Braves will try to get rolling after facing two really tough opponents to start the year. The senior Bieling, who averaged 10 points last season, tossed in 13 against Osage City. He’s a well-rounded talent, also accounting for 4.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.9 steals as a junior.
Jerrod Campbell, junior, Northern Heights:
Northern Heights is trying to fill the void of graduated all-leaguers Cameron Heiman Cameron Heiman 5'8" | CG Northern Heights | 2020 State KS and Tee Preisner. The 5-foot-10 Campbell is one of only a few returners who saw action on last season’s 18-4 club. He is averaging 7.8 points per contest, and has games of 11, 10 and 9.
Joel Deters, junior, Mission Valley:
Mission Valley is trying to get untracked, and Deters is taking some of the minutes of key graduated players from last season’s 14-7 club. The 5-foot-10 junior has tallied 9 points in each of the team’s losses to top-ranked teams, Lyndon and St. Marys.
Evan Feuerborn, sophomore, Lyndon:
The 3-0 Tigers are so deep and balanced, several players deserve notice as key contributors. Let’s focus on the 5-foot-9 sophomore who has provided some perimeter firepower. He has five 3-pointers on the season, and is averaging 10 points per contest.
Shane Orender, senior, Osage City:
The Indians are relying heavily on Gunnar Fort and Landon Boss for their scoring output. But the 5-foot-10 senior Orender can get it done, as evidenced by his three 3-pointer night against Council Grove.
