Daylan Askew Daylan Askew 6'4" | SG Hertford County | 2021 State NC | 6’4 | Hertford County
PrepHoops has gotten a chance to get a lot of looks at Daylan Askew Daylan Askew 6'4" | SG Hertford County | 2021 State NC on the BigShots scene. He’s got unlimited range on the perimeter and attacks with relentless aggression to get to the paint. Whether off the catch or off the bounce, he’ll find defenders with their hands down and make them pay. As he looks to get to the next level, teams will want to see what he can do on the defensive end as well.
Justin Bell Justin Bell 6'2" | SG Clayton | 2021 State NC | 6’2 Guard | Clayton
Justin Bell Justin Bell 6'2" | SG Clayton | 2021 State NC was a familiar face with Harts Select on the summer scene. He’s a combo guard that can operate with and without the ball and always looks to make easy plays on the floor. He’s got a nice touch on his shot as well which allows for him to stretch the floor. As he improves on his body in the weight room, look for him to grow some more in the class.
Solomon Butler | 6’8 Forward | Mount Zion
Solomon Butler is an emerging big man that’s showing flashes of what he can do in the high post and paint area. He’s got nice size at 6-foot-8 and isn’t afraid to crash the glass and man the boards. As he learns to always make an impact on the floor, he’s a big man due for a ton of attention. College coaches will want to get a good look at him.
John Tastinger II | 6’3 Guard | Rabun Gap
John Tastinger II is a new face to PrepHoopsNC but his film showcases his knockdown 3-point shooting, ability to get to the paint and finish while also finding teammates for scores. He does well on the break and in space at making strong decisions with the ball. He keeps the defense guessing by attacking off the catch and off the bounce. He’s got solid handles in the open court and in the halfcourt as well. College coaches will want to get an eye on him and teammate Nate Brafford, a member of the 2022 class.
Josiah Ricks | 6’3 Guard | Bull City Prep
Josiah Ricks is an athletic guard that flies around on both ends for blocks and dunks on both ends. He’s got room to grow as a ballhandler and distributor but he’s got good instincts at the rim as a slasher and defender. College coaches at the JUCO level in need of a high-energy guard, look no further.
Aaron Oates Aaron Oates 6'5" | SF Northside-Pinetown | 2021 State NC | 6’5 Wing/Forward | Northside-Jacksonville
Aaron Oates Aaron Oates 6'5" | SF Northside-Pinetown | 2021 State NC is a long, wiry forward at 6-foot-5 that looks to make an impact on the game in the paint and then some with his length and athleticism. He’s a constant presence on the glass on both ends as a rebounder. Defensively, he uses his length to block and alter shots. On the perimeter, if his feet are set, he’ll drain a 3-pointer. Coaches in need of a guy with a constant motor, look no further.
