Class 5A – Region 7

Predictions:  Goose Creek HS - The Gators have plenty of experience back to make a deep run this season in Class 5A in the Lowcountry. Wando HS - The Warriors will need production out of senior Jackson LewandowskiJacksonLewandowski6'7" | PFWando | 2021StateSC to make some noise in the region. Stratford HS - The Knights will rely on the guard Jontae AdamsJontaeAdams6'0" | CGStratford | 2021StateSC to make some plays this season. Cane Bay HS - The Cobras have a lot of new faces including C.J. Bennett-ShafferC.J.Bennett-Shaffer6'4" | SFCane Bay | 2022StateSC this year.  Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner) - The Stags are off to a (0-5) start this season.   Players to Watch in the Region:  Yaturi BoltonYaturiBolton6'5" | SFGoose Creek | 2021StateSC (2021) - Goose Creek HS (Prep Hoops Region Player of the Year)  Bolton is back for the Gators this season. Bolton a long and rangy wing player with the ability to handle the ball up the floor in transition. Bolton is very versatile to play several positions on the floor.  Taijon SimmonsTaijonSimmons6'6" | SFGoose Creek | 2021StateSC (2021) - Goose Creek HS  Simmons came back this summer on the Grassroots Circuit after being hurt all last year. Simmons started off his career at nearby Bishop England. Simmons wing player really likes to have the ball in his hands. Simmons will look to attack the baseline and remains active in the passing lanes.  Xavion BennettXavionBennett6'4" | SGGoose Creek | 2021StateSC (2021) - Goose Creek HS  Bennett has signed to play at Converse College (SC) (NCAA D2) next year.  Tykelvion Thompson (2021) - Goose Creek HS  Thompson a multi sport athlete like many players for the Gators. Thompson a guard is just another piece to the puzzle for Head Coach Blake Hall.  Jackson LewandowskiJacksonLewandowski6'7" | PFWando | 2021StateSC (2021) - Wando HS (Mount Pleasant)  Lewandowski is a nice pick and pop type guy for the Warriors. Lewandowski feels very comfortable playing face-up to the basket.  Jontae AdamsJontaeAdams6'0" | CGStratford | 2021StateSC (2021) - Stratford HS (Goose Creek)  Adams likes to play the game fast and really excels in the transition. Adams will make the Knights offense go this season. Adams has the ability to knockdown some short jumpers but feels most comfortable attacking the basket.  Jayden Broughton (2021) - Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner) Broughton 6’2 is a undersized post player for the Stags basketball team. Broughton recorded 73 tackles this season while playing Defensive End for the Stags. Broughton looks to be playing football at the 4 year level.  C.J. Bennett-ShafferC.J.Bennett-Shaffer6'4" | SFCane Bay | 2022StateSC (2022) - Cane Bay HS  Bennett-Shaffer is a new name in the region and for the Cobras. Bennett-Shaffer was home-schooled up until this season and played with the Lowcountry Wildcats program. Demetri SimmonsDemetriSimmons6'0" | PGGoose Creek | 2022StateSC (2022) - Goose Creek HS  Simmons had a monster year on the gridiron for the Gators football team. Simmons a running back was named Region Player of the Year for the football team.
