Geivonnii Williams, senior, Hayden (pictured):
The Wildcats are loving this transfer. Williams switched from Topeka High to Hayden for football, but now he’s turning one great performance after another on the hardwood. After hitting 17 in his debut against Highland Park, Williams torched Manhattan with 6-8 3-point shooting. He hit 12-17 from the field to finish 35.
Owen Braxmeyer Owen Braxmeyer 6'1" | CG Manhattan | 2021 State KS , senior, Manhattan:
In a battle with Williams, Braxmeyer hit 9-18 from the field and finished with 24.
Tre Alexander Tre Alexander 6'3" | CG Topeka West | 2021 State KS , senior, Topeka West:
The athletic beast is taking his leadership of the Chargers to another level. With several talented guards around him, Alexander isn’t running the point much. He catches the ball on the wing, in the high post, or wherever, and facilitates offense. He knocked down 10-17 from the field (including two 3-pointers) and 11-15 from the line to wind up with 33.
Vacarrio Triplett Vacarrio Triplett 6'0" | CG Hayden | 2021 State KS , senior, Hayden
The smooth senior is thriving as the interchangeable guard complement to Williams. Triplett racked up 14 in the win over Manhattan, hitting 4-9 from the field. The lanky, slashing senior gets to the line a ton. He hit 6-9 Friday.
Jack Hutchinson Jack Hutchinson 6'1" | CG Washburn Rural | 2021 State KS , senior, Washburn Rural:
The dead-eye senior has developed into much more than a shooter over the years. In a disappointing, low-scoring loss to Highland Park, Hutchinson was most of Rural’s offense. He hit 5-9 from the field, including 3-6 from beyond the arc. He wound up with 16 of Rural’s 48 points.
Jahi Peppers Jahi Peppers 5'9" | CG Highland Park | 2021 State KS , senior, Highland Park:
The Scots’ offense is off to a bit of a slow start this season. But they eked out a win over the Junior Blues with Peppers and junior sidekick Juan’Tario Roberts Juan’Tario Roberts 5'10" | CG Highland Park | 2022 State KS doing most of the damage. Peppers tossed in 12, including 2-4 from 3-point range.
Chance Gilpin, senior, Emporia:
The Spartans have struggled out of the gate. Gilpin did his best to keep up with Seaman Friday night, hitting five 3-pointers en route to 17 points.
