Roland Jr. was even playing points for the Patriots.
The senior Division-I hopeful was hitting shots, attacking the rack, and everything in-between en route to a 28-point night against Choctaw. He also pushed the pace offensively, especially off his own boards, and often forced defenders into tricky situations.
At this point, the game comes so naturally to him that he almost appears automatic, but not so much so that he is robotic, but more as in you can see him running down the mental check-list each possession to help the Patriots develop the best scoring option.
Roland even posted up a little, took advantages of mismatches and his ability to absorb contact.
Defensively, he made life really hard for ball-handlers in three-quarter pick-up pressure.
Daylon Andrews Daylon Andrews 5'10" | PG Pc West | 2021 State OK | Putnam City West G
The senior was doing what he’s always done: Andrews was hitting very impressive shots from the hip, out of the dribble, out of the catch and anything in between. He shoots a pretty ball, gets great trajectory on his shots and you hardly bet against him to hit one from deep.
Andrews also handles contest exceptionally well.
Also a very good passer, Andrews helped to make plays for the Patriots, and his scoring abilities helped him so much that passing came easy to him later in the match.
Raul Nunez Raul Nunez 6'4" | CG Choctaw | 2021 State OK | Choctaw G
A stout guard, the Oklahoma-City commit hit some very impressive shots out-of-the-dribble, and you could tall he’s added to his already deep bag.
LJ Gurley LJ Gurley 5'10" | PG Choctaw | 2021 State OK | Choctaw PG
I love the energy this kid plays with.
Gurley is a great, great passer, and he literally made plays for teammates against Choctaw. He is quite smooth with the ball, and has great speed to him, and his control allows him to then make those plays at top gear, drawing defenders towards him before tossing well-placed dimes to teammates to hit easy shots.
On one play I loved from the senior, Gurley penetrated the lane and started to pull the ball out before zipping a pass from the free-throw line, between two defenders and right into the hands of Robert Gambill in the short corner for an easy lay-in.
