Jalen Hampton Jalen Hampton 6'7" | PF Link Year | 2022 MO 6’7″ University City: The athletic combo forward took home tourney MVP honors after leading the Lions to the championship. His combination of quickness, explosiveness and a high motor made him simply too much to handle for anyone around the basket. His second jump was quick and he could also put the ball on the floor and take defenders off the dribble. He also entertained the fans in the house with a number of impressive dunks. He has already received some Division II offers with some Division I schools showing interest as well.
KJ Lee KJ Lee 6'6" | SG Fort Zumwalt North | 2021 State MO 6’6″ Fort Zumwalt North: The talented shooting guard scored a team-high 19 points despite taking on heavy defensive pressure for a U. City team that was coach by his father. His excellent perimeter stroke was off, but he made up for it by getting to the basket and creating buckets in the lane of tough drives and getting to the free throw line. That part of his game has really developed. He also as taken up much of the ball handling and playmaking responsibilities.
Brandon Ming Brandon Ming 6'5" | SF University City | 2021 State MO 6’4″ University City: The athletic wing player had a breakout game in the semifinals against Washington when he scored a game-high 25 points, which included five 3-pointers. He exploded in the third quarter of that game with 14 points and four consecutive treys. He plays with a high motor on both ends of the court and he can really crash the offensive boards. He is also very good in transition and when he’s making those perimeter jumpers, look out.
Zac Coulter 6’1″ Washington: The solid shooting guard was very impressive throughout the tournament as he led the Bluejays in scoring, which included a 20-point performance against tourney champ University City in the semifinals. I liked how he attacked the basket with confidence and made his open 3-pointers when they became available. He was also very solid on the defensive end where he was always in the right position to make a play.
Max Myers 5’9″ Borgia: The small southpaw guard was very good throughout the week in leading the host Knights to a third-place finish in the tournament. Max was one of the top perimeter shooters in the tournament as he shot a very toasty 48 percent from long distance during the week. He is a very dependable ball handler who will also create a steal on the defensive end with his good instincts.
Ryan Kell 6’0″ Borgia: Another lefty guard from Borgia who did a little bit of everything to help his team to a third-place finish. He did most of his damage on the offensive end while attacking the basket and he also scored on some nice cuts off the ball. he was always in the middle of the action with his rebounding, passing and ability to create steals in the halfcourt offense. He always seemed to be around the ball.
Todd Bieg Todd Bieg 6'7" | PF Washington | 2021 State MO 6’6″ Washington: A solid low post player who made the All-Tournament Team after a productive week of action. He plays more of a finesse game around the basket, which is very effective because he has good footwork and a nice shooting touch from in close. He has a tough spin move in the lane that is very tough to stop.
