Carson Toebe Carson Toebe 6'3" | PG Clear Lake | 2022 State IA , Clear Lake High School (2022)
A 6’3 guard, Toebe pulled down a double-double in a win against Mason City in the game I watched last Monday, with 13 points and 11 rebounds. He got the offense going with a couple 3 point baskets in the first half, ending the game shooting 33.3% from the 3 point line. Toebe was good on the defensive end as well as he was facing up against Corey Miner Corey Miner 6'0" | PG Mason City | 2022 State IA , who I will get to later, but Toebe made it very difficult for Miner and the Mohawks with his length and athleticism. So far Clear Lake is 3-1 and Toebe is averaging 15 points, 3.3 assists and 7 rebounds. He’s a perimeter player worth watching in this loaded ’22 class in the state of Iowa.
Corey Miner Corey Miner 6'0" | PG Mason City | 2022 State IA , Mason City High School (2022)
The 5’10 guard got off to a slow start against the Lions, but as the game went on he started to hit shots that you expected from the skilled guard, but also shots that were tough. He finished the game with 23 total points and helped lead his team to a little comeback after being held scoreless in the first quarter. Miner is crafty with the ball and knows how to find space and pockets in the defense to get his shot off. He can score from all three levels on the court, and he does look to pass if the defense covers him. On the year, the Mohawks have had a rough go of it, but Miner and his offense are clicking as he is putting up 20 points per game and shooting a 47.1% from the 3pt stripe.
Ashton Hermann Ashton Hermann 6'4" | SG Ballard | 2022 State IA , Ballard High School (2022)
Talk about an impressive showing, the Bombers were in control of their game against Bondurant from the tip. Hermann was a big part of that as he showed another gear both on the break and in the half court offense. He finished with 19 points on 50% shooting in this game, but was all over the court as he totaled 7 steals in the game as well. The only place that Hermann struggled from the floor was his free throw shooting, but you could tell when he was on the floor, the Bombers were on a level above the Bluejays. To start the season, Hermann is the team’s leading scorer at 19.3 ppg, a whopping 5 steals per game on 45.5 FG%. The Bombers are legit in Class 3A.
Kale Krogh Kale Krogh 6'6" | C Ballard | 2022 State IA , Ballard High School (2022)
The 6’7 big man, is the physical presence the Bombers need to take this season deep, and on Tuesday he was not someone Bondurant could matchup with. In Krogh’s benefit, he is able to sit around the hoop, go into pick-n-roll situations, and get dump down buckets from his teammates and his teammates happen to be very good at all of those. He wasn’t asked to perform post moves on the block, but he played good defense, rebounded and made the shots he was given. In the game against the Bluejays he finished with 5 blocks and 6 rebounds. On the young season, Krogh is averaging 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks per game and he will be vital to the Bombers success this season.
