Jerome had a strong first half, led by their zone defense which gave the Hawks fits as they couldn’t get the ball inside the middle of the zone. In the second half the game was more up and down the court, but Jerome didn’t turn the ball over and knocked down enough outside shots to remain comfortable the entire way and walk away with a 13 point win. Here were the top performers from the game.
Ryan Nutter Ryan Nutter 6'3" | PG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , 6’3 PG Dublin Jerome 2023: Nutter is one of the top point guard prospects in his class and he showed why he’s a true floor general as just a Sophomore. Nutter can pass with both hands and puts good zip on the ball when crossing the court. Nutter had a slam dunk on the fast break to show off some athleticism and bounce. Nutter isn’t the quickest player and had the ball stripped from his handle a couple times, but with his passing and basketball IQ, I expect Nutter to be one of the more coveted guard prospects in a talented 2023 class around Ohio.
Lachlan MacDonald, SG 6’1 Dublin Jerome 2023: MacDonald made SEVEN 3-pointers in this one, making it rain from the outside. MacDonald has a repeatable form and shoots a really smooth ball out of his hands. Hartley tried speeding up the Celtics in the fourth quarter and Nutter kept find MacDonald open in the corner and he usually made them pay.
Will Miller Will Miller 6'4" | SF Bishop Hartley | 2021 OH , 6’4 PF Bishop Hartley 2021: Miller shined with his inside scoring and passing from the forward position for the Hawks. Miller plays patiently in the paint and moved the ball well against the Jerome zone. Hartley struggled offensively most of the night, but Miller was a bright spot for the Hawks in this one.
