It also featured players with some shake, rattle, and blow. In this article, we take a look at the players with the best wiggle, and blow-by ability from the event.
Donovan Watkins Donovan Watkins 5'8" | PG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA-S 5’8 PG So Cal Prime 2021 – Without a doubt the best combination of wiggle and blow-by ability at the event. He had several COD’s including crossover and spin moves. As for his blow-by, the jitterbug PG was almost impossible to stay in front of.
Lewis Singleterry 5’11 PG Gamepoint 2022 – Singleterry plays like a running back. When he sees a hole, he hits it with a full head of steam. He’s more explosive than fast as he was able to burst by defenders en route to getting consistent paint touches.
Aidan Mahaney Aidan Mahaney 6'3" | PG Campolindo | 2022 State #71 Nation CA-N 6’2 CG Team Grr 2022 – Mahaney reminds me of a great possession receiver in the NFL. He doesn’t seem to be moving that fast, yet somehow, he’s always moving faster than you. He glided to the hole blowing by defenders at ease off the bounce. He always seemed to be playing at a different pace than his defender, making it look like he was on an escalator while they were climbing stairs.
Jason Cibull 5’9 PG Team Arsenal 2021 (featured image) – Cibull looks like the little brother that’s far to young to play on the court. Then he starts crossing people over and you realize he’s a straight-up hooper. His wiggle is legit, and he has a deft handle that allows him to instantly implement COD’s. It was hard for people to stay in front of him all weekend, as he stopped, started, crossed, and shook his way to several big scoring games.
Biko Johnson 6’1 PG TMG 2021 – Biko has crazy wiggle, to go with jaw-dropping athleticism. That was a tough combination for defenders, as he had them on skates most of the weekend. He effectively used the “Smitty” several times to fee himself from defenders.
Elijah Johnson Elijah Johnson 6'4" | PF Woodland Christian | 2021 State CA-N 5’10 PG Purple Reign 2022 – Speed, speed, and more speed. Johnson gobbles up real estate on the court. The lefty, jitterbug PG, is an absolute blur able to get by defenders at will. Even when being forced right, Johnson was able to beat defenders going left, getting several paint touches throughout the weekend.
