It also featured several high flyers In this article, PH takes a look at the top run and jump athletes from the event.
Shane Thomas 6’3 SG Purple Reign 2022 – Thomas is going on my all Grant Hill Bounce team. It doesn’t seem like he’s jumping that high, yet he always seems to be able to go up as high as needed. The long-armed wing had several explosive plays throughout the week.
Hayden Gray Hayden Gray 6'2" | PG Santa Fe Christian | 2021 State CA-S 6’3 SG Gamepoint Elite 2021 – Perhaps Gray’s R&J ability was demonstrated best on the defensive end. He had a power chase-down block, he hammered the guy, but it showed his speed, vertical, and explosion all in one play.
Trevan Martin Trevan Martin 6'4" | SG Santa Fe Christian | 2021 State CA-S 6’4 SF Gamepoint Elite 2021 (featured image) – Martin made a habit of staying on the rim during the weekend. Caught a couple of stupid lobs off set plays, showing off his two-foot bounce. Has a powerful frame, good lateral quickness, and big-time leaping ability.
Gavin Marrs 6’9 PF Friends of Hoop 2022 – Marrs leaps more horizontally than vertically. He seemed to float to the rim this weekend. He has a decent first jump and used it to alter and block shots.
Trey Booker 6’4 PF Day Hawks 2021 – Booker is built like a middleweight boxer. He exploded off the floor for several finishes at the rim. He has a quick 1st and 2nd jump and gets off the floor on both. His athleticism really showed up in his offensive rebounds.
Dom Victor 6’4 SF Saints 2021 – VIctor is a compact, explosive forward that attacked the rim at every opportunity. In addition to a few powerful dunks, he came over from the weakside to challenge and block several shots.
Biko Johnson 6’0 PG TMG Academy 2021 – Biko!!!!! He was on my all wiggle team and he definitely makes my R&J team. He’s an explosive athlete that checked off both the run and the jump part. Showed the speed, and the wiggle to get to the rim along with the power and explosion to finish at it.
