We move over to the top SG’s in 6A.
Here are some of the top ones that will impact their teams:
Tru Washington Tru Washington 6'3" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #61 Nation AZ (Mountain Pointe) (Pictured)
-Not many more talented sophomore guards then Washington. He can score it from all 3 levels and defend multiple positions. He brings that toughness in every game and will look to help the Pride get deep in the playoffs.
Patrick Chew Patrick Chew 6'4" | SG Brophy | 2022 State AZ (Brophy Prep)
-A junior guard who should have a monster season for the Broncos. He can shoot, handle and defend at a high level. He greatly impacted their season the second half last year, and will look to continue that success.
Cody Williams Cody Williams 6'8" | SF Perry | 2023 State #25 Nation AZ (Perry)
-A talented sophomore guard will have a bigger role alongside Tucker. He showed this off season he can defend from inside and out plus score it from slashing and shooting.
Christian Tucker Christian Tucker 6'3" | CG Perry | 2021 State AZ (Perry)
-Another one who should have a huge year for the Pumas. He will take on some of the PG duties, but he will score it and be a perfect compliment next to Williams, Waters and Anderson.
Jevon Humphrey Jevon Humphrey 6'0" | SG Chaparral | 2021 State AZ (Chaparral)
-A scoring guard who can shoot it with the best of them. He will take off a lot of pressure for his teammates with his steady play for the Firebirds this season. He is probably their most important player of the season.
Miles Guliford Miles Guliford 6'1" | SG Liberty | 2021 State AZ (Liberty)
-A lefty sharp shooter who be relied on heavily this season. He had somewhat of a breakout season last year, but not only will he need to score, they will need to win games led by him and Steitz.
AJ Riggs AJ Riggs 6'2" | SG Highland | 2022 State AZ (Highland)
-Outside of the oldest Kaps brother, Riggs and Knollmiller will be critical to the Hawks success. Riggs is a true sniper from the 3pt line and will give them much needed space to get into the paint.
Mason Knollmiller Mason Knollmiller 6'2" | SG Highland | 2022 State AZ (Highland)
-A big beneficiary of Riggs’s shooting will be Knollmiller. He can drive the lane and play above the rim on the break and get downhill. These two juniors can trade off big nights and should win many games while getting into the playoffs.
