We look at more PG’s in 6A.
Here are some sleeper PG’s that will impact their team:
Derick Kaps Derick Kaps 6'1" | PG Highland | 2021 State AZ (Highland)
-Kaps may not be a sleeper locally but he is one of the better senior PG’s in 6A. He is an athletic defender who keeps getting better each year shooting. He is very shifty with the ball and will lead the Hawks to the playoffs.
Jimari Grayson Jimari Grayson 6'1" | PG Mesa | 2021 State AZ (Mesa)
-A transfer by the way of Apache Junction will be a huge addition for the Jackrabbits. Not as well known as some others, but he is strong with good speed and gets downhill with the best of them. He is a nice change of pace to the shooting Steven Cervantes Steven Cervantes 5'10" | PG Mesa | 2021 State AZ and those two will be a tough back court in 6A. He also is a tough on-ball defender with his physicality.
Thomas Hastings Thomas Hastings 6'1" | PG Basha | 2021 State AZ (Basha)
-A skilled lead guard has made strides each season. He will take on a heavier work load this season and will be asked to score it from the perimeter plus make plays. The sharp shooter should see all his numbers go up and breakout.
Dwight McKnight Dwight McKnight 6'1" | PG Valley Vista | 2021 State AZ (Valley Vista)
-Another breakout candidate will be have a big season for the Monsoon. He is a tough defender and gets into the lane and scores it through contact. He will handle the PG duties and the two-way player can lead them deep into the playoffs.
William Betteridge William Betteridge 5'11" | PG Chaparral | 2021 State AZ (Chaparral)
-A scoring lead guard will get his chance to put up points this season. He has deep shooting range and comes with an ultimate fast trigger. He has big confidence and they will need it to make a run far in the playoffs.
Adrian Galindo Adrian Galindo 5'11" | PG Hamilton | 2021 State AZ (Hamilton)
-An elite soccer player decided to play this season for the Huskies per head coach. That will give them a huge boost on both sides of the floor. His lateral quickness is close to elite and he is very fast with the ball in his hands.
Jalin Humphrey (Chaparral)
-Another very important guard for the Firebirds. He has great open court speed and is quick with the ball. He will defend his man and has a nice pull-up from mid-range.
Joey Grady Joey Grady 5'10" | PG Pinnacle | 2022 State AZ (Pinnacle)
-A virtual unknown as he has been playing behind multiple high level PG’s with Nico Mannion, Trent Brown and last year Luke Grawer Luke Grawer 6'2" | PG Pinnacle | 2020 State AZ . He can really shoot it like all of them and handles it well. He plays a cerebral game and will have the keys the next two years.
Dominic Garza Dominic Garza 6'1" | PG Shadow Ridge | 2022 State AZ (Shadow Ridge)
-The pure PG will set the tone and spray around dimes to his teammates. He has good quickness to get into the lane and he can also shoot it from the perimeter.
