Alphabetically, here are our 5 underrated seniors:
Aiden Rebel Aiden Rebel 6'4" | SG New England | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-5 G| New England – The Tigers are 3-1 on the season. He may have the best pull-up jumper in North Dakota. Aiden is 6’5” with a 6’8” wingspan, this makes him a matchup nightmare for opposing guards. He is averaging 25 ppg on the season with 8.5 rpg. Aiden is a great leader for the Tigers, and he makes his teammates better. He will most likely see a double team every night the rest of the season. I still expect him to put up huge numbers because of his size, athleticism, skills, and determination. Be on the lookout for New England and Mr. Rebel!
Cy Luna (2021) |5-10 G| T-G-U – The Titans are 2-3. A top tier player in Region 6. He has excellent basketball instincts and has very good athleticism to go with it. Cy is averaging 18 ppg, while shooting 58% from the field. He also leads his team in rebounding as a 5’10” guard. Cy is also a standout on the defensive end, both on and off the ball. He is also a very unselfish player, at times too unselfish. Cy has a great understanding of the game and has a high basketball IQ. He is lighting quick off of the bounce and can finish in several different ways. Expect a great senior season from Cy!
Evan Ulrich Evan Ulrich 6'7" | C New Rockford-Sheyenne | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-7 F| New Rockford/Sheyenne – The Rockets are 4-1 on the season. Evan has committed to the University of Jamestown to play basketball following his senior season. He is a post player who can score inside, but he can also score from the perimeter. Evan is averaging 23 ppg and 12 rpg on the season. He scored 44 points in a game this year and grabbed 21 rebounds in another game. His perimeter shot is soft and never seems to be forced. For a big man, he has great handles and passes it cleanly. Expect Evan to fill the stat sheet all season long and for his team to rack up the wins.
Noah Frederickson (2021) |6-0 G| Powers Lake – The Ranchers are 4-0 on the season and hot after winning the Stanley Holiday tournament. Noah might be the best 3-point shooter in North Dakota. He made nine 3’s in a game earlier this season and put up 29 points in that game. He is averaging 15 ppg, 8 rpg, and 4 apg. For a 6-foot guard, 8 rebounds per game is impressive. I enjoy watching the way he moves without the ball and how he finds the open spot to receive the pass for his deadly shot. Expect the Ranchers to stay hot and keep the ball rolling. I am predicting they make a run into the State Tournament.
Walker Wold Walker Wold 6'3" | SF Lewis & Clark - Berthold | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-3 F| Lewis & Clark/Berthold – The Bombers are 2-1 on the season. If you want to talk about players starting the year hot, you do not have to look any further. Walker is averaging 32.3 ppg along with 8.5 rpg. He has a great demeanor about his game. Walker can score on the bock, slash to the rim, and hit pull-up jumpers. I like how crafty he is, Walker takes what the defense gives him. He is a long 6’3” that moves well. As his teammates continue to grow, I expect the Bombers to be a tough out in March. Keep an eye on Walker, he is one of the best scorers in the state of North Dakota.
