3A features some of the top small-school ballers in the state. Check out the early-season performances for top 3A teams:

Cason RichardsonCasonRichardson6'1" | CGHesston | 2022StateKS, Hesston

#1 ranked Hesston has played some pretty good teams so far this season and have yet to be challenged. Their marquee win is a 62-44 road victory at St. Marys. Richardson hit eight field goals and went 4-5 from the line for 22 points in that win. The 6-foot-1 guard picked up right where he left off as a third-team all stater as a sophomore.

Luke Grace, junior, Cheney:

#3 Cheney has got lots of nice pieces. Grace isn’t the lone-star on this team, but he’s come up big so far this year. His highlights include 22 points in a win over El Dorado and 20 against Hutch Trinity, including a buzzer beater to send the game to overtime.

Drew NicholsonDrewNicholson6'6" | PFHoisington | 2021StateKS, senior, Hoisington (pictured):

The 6-foot-7 beast is tearing it up in his senior season. After earning second-team 3A last year, Nicholson is averaging 19 points and 7.8 boards a game for the #4 Cardinals.

Zenger is having the type of season for #8 Rock Creek
