Luke Bara Luke Bara 6'1" | CG Muskego | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Muskego
Bara has a really nice offensive skillset. He can play on and off the ball. The 6-foot-1 guard has the ball on a string and showcased a variety of go-to moves off the bounce. A shot creator that utilizes change of speed/pace, Bara really looks the part as an isolation scorer. He’s a smooth pull-up jump shooter that can knock down shots off-balance and via a step-back. The senior guard was also very competitive throughout the day defensively. You could tell he was constantly engaged, relished the challenge of going up against some of the top talent in the gym, and made people work for pretty much everything they got.
Tayshawn Bridges – 2024 – SG – Brookfield East
Not that there was any doubt after he ran through the Prep Hoops Circuit this past summer, but Bridges is varsity ready and will immediately be one of the best players in this state. From an offensive standpoint, Bridges has a lot of firepower. The 6-foot-2 freshman has the body of an upperclassmen, can shoot it from all three levels, viciously attacks the rim, and displays excellent toughness, body control, and leaping ability around the rim. Maryland, Florida State, Iowa, and Auburn have already offered Bridges going into the 2020-21 season. Bridges just went off in his final game outing against Muskego, getting to the rim at will and knocking down tough, contested shots like a seasoned veteran.
Hayden Doyle Hayden Doyle 6'0" | CG Brookfield East | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Brookfield East
Doyle and Brookfield East went 3-0 on Sunday. The Washington (St. Louis) commit had a very efficient and productive day. Doyle is an excellent leader for the Spartans. He leads vocally and by example. If one of his teammates makes a play, he’s the first to congratulate them. If a teammate makes a mistake, Doyle isn’t afraid to get on them without being abrasive. One of the most solid and complete guards in the state, Doyle contributes across the board — knocking down his open shots, moving the basketball unselfishly, rebounding from the guard spot, generating easy buckets at the rim, and he’ll always do his job defensively.
Dan Gherezgher Dan Gherezgher 6'1" | SG Brookfield East | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Brookfield East
This is easily the biggest surprise of the day. An unranked prospect, Gherzegher didn’t play varsity last season, but appears poised to start and make a nice impact for the Spartans in 2020-21. A plus-length lefty, Gherzegher can absolutely shoot the rock. He’s more than just a spot-up shooter. The 6-foot-1 guard can create with a nice little one-dribble pull-up. Also an outstanding defender, Gherzegher has excellent anticipation, shutting off straight-line drives and playing the passing lanes. In three games, Gherzegher forced a ton of turnovers while also being in double figures scoring.
Nate Jocz – 2021 – G – New Berlin West
Jocz averaged about 14 points per game as a junior while playing a tough conference. The 6-foot-3 senior is almost positionless at times. He plays a lot of point guard, but has no problem moving off the ball or playing inside if needed. Jocz is probably best on the ball. He’s an unselfish playmaker that can do a little bit of everything. Jocz becomes tough to match up with due to his size, ability to handle the basketball, and playmaking ability. Jocz shoots it well from the mid-range and bailed New Berlin West out of some rough-looking offensive possessions.
Bennett McCormick Bennett McCormick 6'3" | SG Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI – 2023 – W – Catholic Memorial
McCormick delivered a huge second half to help the Crusaders upend New Berlin West in a tight, contested ball game. A top 10 prospect in Wisconsin’s 2023 class, McCormick can just live at the rim. The sophomore wing is one of the best slashers in the state, able to get from the 3-point line to the rim in limited dribbles/effort. McCormick also moves without the basketball and gets a couple buckets each game by setting up defenders and making hard cuts to the rim. The outside shot is a work in progress, but it’s there to the point defenders have to respect it. Also a two-way player, the 6-foot-3 wing brings plenty of energy and toughness to the floor.
Braden Mcglothlin Braden Mcglothlin 6'0" | PG Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Catholic Memorial
Really like the way McGlothlin approaches the point guard position. He can definitely score it and is a dangerous perimeter shooter, but McGlothlin also has an outstanding feel for the game and unique ability to get his teammates in rhtyhm. McGlothlin pushes the tempo, keeps his head up on the dribble, delivers on-time, on-target passes right into the shooting pocket. If he needs to take over offensively, McGlothlin is more than capable. He shoots it well on and off the ball. A quick-trigger guard that doesn’t need a lot of space to score, McGlothlin puts up points efficiently, takes quality shots, and for the most part understands how to get buckets outside the system.
Robert Peters Robert Peters 6'8" | PF West Allis Hale | 2023 State WI – 2023 – F/C – West Allis Hale
A lot of upside on Peeters. The sophomore big man showed a lot of flashes in his final game against New Berlin West and was constantly hammering down the rim. An athletic, 6-foot-7 forward with bounce, Peeters is just scratching the surface. He can run like a deer in transition, track down offensive rebounds, protect the rim, and score a little bit in the post. While he has a lot of development left, we like Peeters in the top 10 because he displays a blue collar work ethic and does the little things. If the skillset catches up to his athletic measurables…watch out.
Najashi Tolefree Najashi Tolefree 6'6" | SF West Allis Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SF – West Allis Central
Nothing we hadn’t really seen before, but Tolefree continues to take steps in the right direction. When the junior combo forward is in a rhythm, he’s tough to slow down defensively. An alpha that plays the game with a lot of passion and an edge, Tolefree wants to dominate each time out. At 6-foot-5, Tolefree has versatility to play inside and out, can score from all three levels, and even play a little point forward. A long, strong, and athletic body, Tolefree is a freight train in transition and also has the vision/unselfishness to create for others in the open floor.
