Week 2: Top Players of the Week
Where should I start?
Oh, yeah, week two of the 2020 high school basketball season is complete.
A lot of players in the state came to play.
Here are the top players from this week.
Jordan Hamilton, Fayette Ware: The senior wing had 26 points, seven steals and seven rebounds in the Wildcats’ 79-61 win over Jackson North Side.
JaSteven Walker, Fayette Ware: The junior big man had 13 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks against the Indians.
Jensen Linton, Eagleville: Linton had 29 points in the Eagles’ 65-55 win over McEwen.
Jackson Watson, Eagleville: Watson added 17 points against the Warriors.
Jaye Nash, Briarcrest: Nash had 15 points, 11 assists and five steals in the Saints’ 82-53 win over Fayette Academy. He had seven points and 12 assists in a win over Olive Branch and 10 points and 10 assists in a win over Union City.
Cooper Haynes, Briarcrest: Haynes had 16 points and converted on four 3-pointers against the Vikings. He had 17 points in a win over the Golden Tornadoes.
Chandler Jackson, Christian Brothers: Jackson had 18 points and eight rebounds in the Purple Wave’s 57-44 win over ECS. Jackson had 19 points and four assists in a 74-45 win over Olive Branch.
Eli Federman, Christian Brothers: Federman had 12 points and five rebounds against the ‘Quistors. Harrison Kelly added 11 points. Reese McMullen had nine points, five rebounds and five assists. Colin Scifres also had nine points.
McMullen’s best performance (27 points and four rebounds) came against Jackson Prep.
Hunter Pratt, Christian Brothers: Pratt had 11 points, five blocks and five rebounds in the 60-35 win over Jackson Prep.
Matthew Schneider, Siegel: Schneider led the Stars with 21 points in their 65-55 win over Guntersville.
Zion Swader, Siegel: Swader added 20 points against the tough opponent out of Alabama.
Darwin Randolph and Marcus Long, East Hamilton: Both senior guards finished with 18 points in a loss at Plainview. Randolph had 26 points in the 75-72 win over Buckhorn. Long added 21 points.
Cade Pendleton, East Hamilton: The junior forward had 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven blocks and two assists against Buckhorn.
Justin Morgan, MHEA: The junior wing had 31 points and eight rebounds in the 88-62 win over St. George’s. Luke Shoemaker had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Luke Guess added 13 points, six rebounds and six steals. Sam Eubank provided seven points and nine assists.
R’Chaun King, MUS: The freshman forward had 18 points and 17 rebounds in the Owls’ 74-57 win over MRA.
Ayman McGowan, MUS: McGowan led the Owls in scoring with 20. He had 16 points in the 50-47 win over Bartlett.
Rashad Williams, Bartlett: The freshman forward had 11 points and nine rebounds in the loss to MUS.
JaQuan Lax, Bolivar: Lax had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists in a win over Jackson North Side.
Isaiah Jones, Arlington: Jones had 11 points and 12 rebounds in the Tigers’ home win against Bolivar Central.
Phil Dotson III, Arlington: Dotson had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists against the Tigers.
Cedquavious Hunter, USJ: Hunter had 22 points in a win over Carroll Academy.
Micah Simpson, Morristown East: Simpson had 12 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in a 46-45 win over Knoxville Catholic.
Braden Ilic, Morristown East: Ilic had 16 points and 12 boards against the Fighting Irish.
Landon Smith, Adamsville: Smith had 22 points, six rebounds and two assists in his team’s 53-47 win over Clarksburg.
Tyler Byrd, Tipton–Rosemark Academy: Byrd had 20 points in the Rebels’ 61-54 win over St. Benedict.
Alex Anderson, Tipton–Rosemark Academy: Anderson led his team with 27 points against the Eagles.
Gary Bair, St. Benedict: Bair had 21 points against TRA.
