Caleb Nelson Caleb Nelson 6'7" | SF Carlsbad | 2021 State CA-S 6’6 SF Coastal Elite Slayers 2021 (#58PHSC 2021) – Nelson just feels like the prototypical floor-spacing forward. He hit a ton of corner 3’s throughout the weekend including going 3-3 from the spot against his first opponent of the event. At 6’6 he has the size to shoot over guards, and most post simply couldn’t get to him quick enough.
John Connolly 6’6 SF Team Build Up 2021 – Connolly makes this list strictly for the buzz he created. I had several coaches come up to me to talk about his 5 3point performance game. An intriguing prospect that showed he can do it both off the bounce and in catch and shoot action.
Jadeon Gerron 6’6 SF Gamepoint 2021 – The Rice commit was on his game all week. He buried a ton of 3’s. He’s a combination of a stretch and a wing, but it didn’t matter the position when the rangy wing was left open, he buried shots.
Calvin Mader Clark Calvin Mader Clark 6'5" | SF Hillsdale | 2022 State CA-N 6’5 SG Different 2022 (#58PHNC 2022) – Clark showed a consistent ability to make shots. That percentage went up mightily when those shots were coming from the corner. In the game I watched he used a lighting release to knock down every corner 3 he took.
Shane Perry 6’3 SG WCE 2024 – Perry possesses a shooter’s frame. The young player has definition in his upper body, which helps him shoot it with range. A high volume shooter with unwavering confidence, Perry knocked down 9 threes in one game this weekend.
Shea Fitzgerald 6’1 SG WCE 2023 – Fitzgerald and Perry play on the same team, so you definitely have to keep a hand up. Much like Perry, Fitzgerald shot it effortlessly from range. He finished with 7 3’s in the same game that Fitzgerald hit 9 in.
Damian Ruiz Damian Ruiz 6'2" | SG Linfield Christian | 2022 State CA-S 6’2 SG Gamepoint 2022 (#74PHSC 2022) – Ruiz is one of the top shooters on the West Coast, and he did not let me down. He’s really starting to develop into more than just a spot-up 3 point shooter. On this weekend the guard was flawless from the free-throw line and nailed several mid-range shots off dribble drives.
