#5 – Devon Malcolm Devon Malcolm 6'4" | SF South Medford | 2022 State OR (2022 Butte Falls)
Arguably the athlete with the best combination of explosiveness and power in the entire state is Malcolm, who has been absolutely dominant at the 2A level. The 6-foot-4 junior put up some more highlight reel dunks in club action this summer and fall and continues to hone his perimeter skills as he transitions into more of a wing. Malcolm picked up a scholarship offer from Portland and should be in line to get more as college coaches get a look at him.
#7 – Mason VanBeenen Mason VanBeenen 6'9" | PF West Linn | 2022 State OR (2022 West Linn)
VanBeenen continues to develop as a versatile forward, capable of posting up strong or facing the basket where he can knock down open shots or create off of the dribble. The 6-foot-9 forward also continues to get more confident and his physical development has played a part in that. VanBeenen will undoubtedly have a much bigger role at West Linn this his junior season.
#8 – Christian Rowell Christian Rowell 6'7" | SF Lake Oswego | 2022 State OR (2022 Lake Oswego)
Rowell’s jump up in the rankings is mostly due to his potential but we are starting to see it realized thanks to his play with Elite 24. The 6-foot-7 junior is showing much more aggressiveness on the offensive end, no longer just settling for perimeter jumpers but attacking the lane and finishing at the rim. Now at Lake Oswego, he’ll be a major player for the Lakers.
#12 – Mack Wall Mack Wall 6'7" | PF Jesuit | 2022 State OR (2022 Jesuit)
As we noted in the recent stock risers piece, we totally had Wall pegged wrong – both in terms of his position on the floor as well as his ranking. The 6-foot-7 junior has the potential to be a stretch four as he shoots it extremely well, especially off the catch and shoot. He’s not afraid to bang inside and is effective on the offensive glass. Even though he’s making the jump up from JV, we fully expect him to be a big piece at Jesuit this year.
#15 – Bryce Dyer Bryce Dyer 6'5" | PF North Medford | 2022 State OR (2022 North Medford)
Already a dominant rebounder, Dyer is on track to be a force on both ends of the floor for North Medford. The 6-foot-5 junior may have been one of the busiest guys on the limited tournament scene this summer and fall, but he’s taken advantage by show that he can score the ball in a multitude of ways. Dyer has upside as if he grows taller he could be a stretch four, or if he continues to develop his skills, a three at the college level.
