Many Junior college teams were present including some unsigned seniors looking for exposure and getting some film to send out to coaches.
Here were some of the former AZ HS players and current senior standouts:
Donovan Williams CG 6’0 Juco Soph Ventura College/CA (Pictured)
-The former McClintock HS standout is way stronger from two years ago. He was probably 150 and is now 175. He is a more polished shooter and can drive and kick or dump it off to a shooter in the lane. He can catch and shoot it to the 3pt line with range. He uses his stronger frame to get into the lane and score it through contact. He can step back and hit the 3 better than before.
Jackson Ruai CG 6’4 Juco Soph Central Arizona
-The former Amphi HS stud is a long and lean defensive nightmare. He talks all game long and is quick as anyone on the court. He defends the 1-3 and will have high flying dunks and blocks shots on the weak side on the norm. He is still extremely unselfish always trying to make the right play. He is capable shooter from mid to the 3. He gets downhill well with a shifty handle using his length, athleticism and size.
Caleb Geisendorfer Caleb Geisendorfer 6'8" | PF Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2021 State AZ Phhoenix Prep Post Grad
-A bouncy post forward who had a good week of games. He explodes up to rebound the ball and dunks it effortlessly. He can shoot it from the 3pt line but is probably best from the high post. He blocks shots, rebounds and runs the floor well. He committed to Ventura College.
Anthony Garza Anthony Garza 6'7" | PF Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2021 State AZ Phhoenix Prep Post Grad
-A high motored forward is very fluid and grabs out of area rebounds with good length. He can face-up from 15-feet and in but does most of his work inside the paint. He is relentless on the glass. If you do not box him out, he will be a huge factor all day long.
Doc Self PG 5’11 Juco Soph Juco Soph Central AZ
-The former Gilbert HS state champ is a true floor general with good speed. He makes many winning plays from his defense, passing and catch-3. He has good pace to his game and has a very calming feeling when the ball is in his hands.
Mycole Rodriguez SG 6’2 Juco Soph Central AZ
-The former Paradise Valley HS standout has improved immensely. He can shoot it with range and has good length. His floater game is polished and he uses his length in the passing lanes to collect steals and gets many deflections a game.
Ryan Pate SF 6’5 Juco Soph Central AZ
-The Mountain Pointe HS standout is one of the better standstill shooters off the catch. He has deep 3pt range with a quicker trigger and smartly moves without the ball in his hands. He rebounds well in his area and he can push the ball up the floor with an improving handle.
