On the other end of the spectrum is our senior class that produces despite having years of scouting against. Let’s see how these green players stack up against varsity competition.
Jaxson Hayes | Prosper | 2024
Hayes showed it all in his high school debut. His 15 points and 10 rebounds highlight athleticism and an early ability to finish around the rim. The 5 assists show his ability to pass the ball when operating at the top of the key. Energy and his 6-7 frame gave him the defensive pressure to alter shots and force turnovers.
Tre Johnson | Lake Highlands | 2024
Johnson’s already a poised scorer after two games. If his 30 opener didn’t impress you, the 17 points in his follow up will at least prove he’s a consistent double digit threat. A space generating handle and consistent jumpshot from distance carry his scoring package.
Rhino Hernandez | Frisco Independence | 2021
There might not be a guard who uses their quickness with as much force as Hernandez. His activity level yields production on both ends invading passing lanes on one end and the paint on the other. His handle creates space and when he gets downhill, the defense is at the mercy of a crafty passer and the official’s whistle.
Cale Martens Cale Martens 6'7" | C Marcus | 2021 TX | Marcus | 2021
Martens was the game’s most consistent finisher with a game-high 22. He does a good job of sealing a defender and finishing over the top. He can finish over both shoulders, but it’s the quickness of his shot that gets him separation.
