Micheal Niemann | Frisco Wakeland
Niemann scores points in bunches. Quick and shifty Wakeland’s point guard scores on all the levels. He’s shoots it well, hitting 2 threes in his 8 point run to close out the first half. The Prep Hoops Texas top 25 ranked shooting guard will thrive in a fast-paced offense at the next level.
Arop Arop Arop Arop 6'8" | SF Chisholm Trail | 2022 MN | Chisholm Trail
Start of the summer Arop was a spaghetti thin 6-6 wing. now he’s more of a 6-8 face-up four. My stream may have been deceiving but the starting forward looks a little thicker. As a wing, he attacked closeouts for finishes at the rim and it’s more of the same against bigger forwards. In his high school’s offense, he’s able to catch and create from the top of the key even converting from college three range.
Justin Haire Justin Haire 6'8" | PF Sulphur Springs | 2022 State TX | Sulphur Springs
A physical 6-6 forward that can space the perimeter and finish a roll to the basket. He’s a capable face-up driver using jab steps to create space. He shoots, rebounds, and is an active defender with a motor that leads to blocks.
Dallas Hobbs Dallas Hobbs 6'1" | PG Dynamic Prep Academy | 2023 State TX | Faith Family
Hobbs is just the high-speed playmaker any team is looking for. He beats defenders off the bounce, then hunts for the right pass or open teammate. Hobbs didn’t shoot well in this contest, but a history of above-average shooting from range calms any worries.
Pierre Hunter | Madison
Hunter blew me away with his speed this summer, playing point guard with his AAU team. Now it’s blowing me away in Madison’s fast-paced offense. While weaving through traffic the junior can get you from the backcourt to the paint in under 5 seconds. The speedster plays with pace, slamming on the breaks and accelerating pasts defenders. Hunter struggled to convert from the field in this game, but his 4 trips to the free-throw line made up for a few misses.
TJ Caldwell | Faith Family
Caldwell’s athleticism draws my eye in every setting I’ve seen him. A two-guard with high major offers that can jump out of the gym. My shooting notes for Caldwell reads dunk, putback dunk, transition dunk, floater, and transition alley-oop. His above the finishing is very real, and a developing handle will help what looks like a soft touch at the rim.
Jordan Walsh Jordan Walsh 6'7" | SF Link Academy | 2022 #31 Nation MO | Faith Family
I love how a revamped roster is showcasing Walsh’s improved handle. Always a gifted athlete, he’s combining the ball skills for navigating space. Recent listings have him an inch taller at 6-8 something few offensive players want from an already adept perimeter defender. As the number 1 on a talented team, this is just the situation to see Walsh develop. Two twenty point, 4 assists double-doubles are the two biggest stat lines he posted this week.
