Look for these kids to take major leaps this next year as they develop as players and athletes. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these young men as they continue to grow and begin their senior campaigns.
Rytis Peraltis 2021 6’6 Oakridge High School (Arlington)
Rytis is a sniping sharpshooter with a great all-around game. He can stroke the ball from range, the midrange and bully defenders on the block. He is a strong finisher in the paint with both hands, even against stout competition down low. I was most surprised with his ability to handle the rock and beat his defenders off the dribble. He is an intelligent player who seems to recognize when he has shifted a defender’s weight enough to shoot over them. He displayed some impressive one dribble side steps, step backs and step ins to keep the second defenders off balance as they came over to contest him. He has all the tools to be an elite offensive weapon at the next level.
Stephen Mahler 2021 6’5 John Jay High School
Stephen is an impressive player who dominates along the wing. He showed off high level shooting touch and great confidence to pair with it. He is great at getting up and down the court, he thrives with a live dribble in the open court. He is good at operating out of the triple threat and knows how to use his opponents momentum against them and getting to the hole. He has a soft touch on his jumpers which allows him to stretch the floor and put pressure on the defense. He finishes well around the rim for his size. I would like to see him work on his overall ball control and vision to set up his teammates.
Jonas Carlisle Jonas Carlisle 6'3" | SG South San | 2021 State TX 6’3 2021 South San High School
Jonas is a strong and aggressive wing with a great ability to finish in traffic. He knows how to contort his body well to avoid defenders and has an elite use of the hop step. He thrives in transition and loves to push and create for his teammates. He had impressive scoop layups that drew contact, much like James Harden does in the lane- sticking out his arms and inviting defenders to swipe at it, and then using his strength to power through and finish. I was blown away by his agility and mobility for his strong frame. I would like to see him work on his ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots off the catch.
Jason Resewehr 6’3 2021 Tompkins High School
Jason is a crafty wing who shoots the ball very well around the arc. He has good triple threat moves that he uses to get defenders off balance. I would like to see him get lower and provide more explosion out of the triple threat because he has the intelligence to get his defenders off balance with ease. His ability to knock down shots behind the arc and in the midrange forces his defenders to come contest him hard which opens up driving lanes for himself and his teammates.
Adhurim Emerllahu 6’5 2021 (Strength N Motion 2021 Red) Clark High School
Adhurim is a long armed wing with tremendous potential to be effective at the next level. He loves playing in the full court and finishing coast to coast. He is very skilled underneath the rim and displayed an impressive amount of post moves for such a young prospect. At the next level he will be able to effortlessly punish guards in the paint. I would like to see more confidence in his jumper and ability to stretch the floor. Once defenders truly fear him from outside, he will dominate the game, blowing by defenders who come out to hard to contest.
