Look for these kids to take major leaps this next year as they develop as players and athletes. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these young men as they continue to grow and begin their senior campaigns.
Adhurim Emerllahu 2021 6’5 (Strength N Motion 2021 Red) Clark High School
Adhurim is a lanky wing with tremendous potential to be effective at the next level. He has great body control and is a special player when he gets going in transition toward the rim. He has an array of post moves that he explodes out of to get to the rim very well. I would like to see more confidence in his jumper and ability to stretch the floor. Once defenders truly fear him from outside, he will dominate the game, blowing by defenders who come out to hard to contest.
Kobe Webb 2021 6’5 PF Alvarado High School
Kobe is an aggressive forward with unlimited potential. He has great food speed and agility and can easily guard positions 3-5 and most guards. I was very impressed with his ability to get up and down the court and even had some impressive chase down blocks and strong rim running finishes. I would like to see continued work on his ability to drive with the ball in his hands as well as create open jump shots for himself off a live dribble. If he continues to develop, he has a real shot at being an effective rim running forward at the next level.
Kenyon Williams 2021 6’6 Euless Trinity High School
Kenyon is an athletic forward who is great at finishing down low at the rim. He has great leaping ability and ability to throw down jaw dropping dunks. He also has a soft touch and ability to stretch the floor, showing an ability to affect all three levels. On the defensive side of the ball he is a natural rim protector, who can throw any shot into the stands.
Jaydon Hogg 2021 6’4 Midlothian Heritage High School
Jaydon is an athletic forward with good leaping ability. He is strong with the ball underneath the basket and makes smart decisions within the flow of the offense. He has long arms and legs, a good indicator that he should not be done growing. He has great mobility and can run the floor with ease. I was impressed with his outside jumper and ability to beat his defender off the dribble and score at all three levels of the offense.
Raphfel Moss Jr. 2022 O’Connell High School (Galveston)
Raphfel is an athletic specimen with great leaping ability. He has all the tools to become a dominant rim running forward, or maybe even a player much like Bam Adebayo. He is long, quick and athletic and has all the tools to become an incredible basketball player. He is a raw athlete with a lot of potential, but his game is unrefined. As he is a younger player, I was not surprised by this but more in awe of all the other things he was able to do despite having a below average ball handling ability and vision on the court. This upcoming season I want to see him work on his ball handling and ability to stretch the floor. He is already a pretty strong finisher at the rim, thanks to his leaping ability, and I only expect to see him get better from here.
