Look for these kids to take major leaps this next year as they develop as players and athletes. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these young men as they continue to grow and begin their senior campaigns.
Rodney Johnson Rodney Johnson 6'5" | PF Bryan | 2021 State TX Jr. 2021 6’6 Power Forward Bryan High School
Rodney is an athletic freak who has a real chance to be successful at the next level. His leaping ability stood out and is already at an elite level, paired with his body size and strength he has all the tools to be an effective four for a division one or two team. I was very impressed by his ability to finish at the rim, no matter if he was facing contact or was forced to change where he wanted to release the ball. I would like to see continued development in his outside-in game, he has a decent set shot and needs work on pull up shots in mid-range and behind the arc.
Cole Anderson 6’7 2021 Barbers Hill High School
Cole is an intelligent forward who can stretch the floor just as well as he dominates down low. He is great at fighting for position down low, spinning off defenders to front them and box them out. He is a great screener and can do a multitude of things after the screen. He can pop and stretch the floor, roll and finish around the rim or roll and fire a tough pass to the corner to an open shooter as he feels the defense collapse on him. He has an array of post moves and ball skills off a live dribble. I would like to see more development and willingness to take a pull up mid-range jumper that has been there for him all day.
Donovan Stafford 2021 Forward
Donovan is an impressive athlete who is ferocious on both ends of the floor. His aggressiveness and willingness to put pressure on his opponents forced them to be uncomfortable all tournament. He has a great set shot and can easily knock down shots from behind the arc if given time. He loves to take the toughest defensive matchup and is a coveted irritator on the defensive side of the ball. I would like to see him improve with his confidence as a ball handler and scorer off the bounce, he has all the tools to be a versatile offensive and defensive weapon.
Cade Holzman Cade Holzman 6'7" | SF Austin Bowie | 2021 State TX 6’7 2021 (THP Blue) Bowie High School
Cade is an athletic forward with great finishing ability and a soft touch on his outside jumper. He is great at creating open looks for himself by utilizing tempo and slowing down his defender before exploding past him to the rim or over him to shoot a jumper. His game reminds me a lot of Brandon Ingram in his effortless scoring ability coming from such a lanky athlete.
Paul Bizimana Paul Bizimana 6'7" | PF Haltom | 2021 State TX 6’8 2021 Haltom High School
Paul is a good finisher with impressive food speed and agility. He is great at running the floor and moves well for his size. He has an array of finishing moves that he can get to down low, such as spins and half spins and strong sweeping face up moves. I was most impressed with his ability to run with a live dribble and get to the rack. He dominates the game with his incredible size and agility, wreaking havoc wherever he goes.
