Chase Walker Chase Walker 6'8" | C St. Charles | 2023 State OH , 6’6 C St Charles 2023: Walker is the biggest kid in this class bar none. Walker is surprisingly mobile for a kid as big as he is, but stamina is a major question mark right now. There’s a lot to work with currently with Walker as he’s an incredibly gifted passer from the post. His handle is also advanced for a guy his size. You want to be patient with young bigs and Walker has a lot of nice pieces to work with, but playing his way into better shape is a priority.
Will Maxwell Will Maxwell 6'5" | SF Oakwood | 2023 State OH , 6’4 SF Oakwood 2023: Maxwell flew a bit under the radar last high school season but came onto the scene with impressive performances for All-Ohio Red this summer. Maxwell is a talented slasher who does have some explosive athleticism. With Keon Wright Keon Wright 6'0" | PG Oakwood | 2022 State OH transferring to Oakwood, they have a great 1-2 punch that could help them vault up the conference standings.
Donovan Hunter Donovan Hunter 6'7" | PF Spire | 2023 State OH , 6’7 SF Westerville Central 2023: Losing Quincy Cook hurts but with Hunter, the Warhawks will still have some serious talent this season. At 6’7 he flashes some impressive perimeter ability with ball handling and outside shot making. I want to see Hunter score more around the basket against players older than him this season, as well as continuing to see the perimeter game develop.
Ryan Nutter Ryan Nutter 6'3" | PG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , 6’3 PG Dublin Jerome 2023: Nutter has great vision on the floor and can really share the basketball with his teammates. Nutter already stands at 6’3 and can space the floor. Nutter lacks a lot of burst and explosive athleticism, but with his basketball IQ, size and skill he’s going to be one of the most productive Sophomores in the state this season.
Jesse Hayes Jesse Hayes 6'7" | C Padua | 2023 State OH , 6’7 C Padua 2023: The first thing that pops with Hayes is his long arms. If I had to guess I’d say his wing-span is approaching seven feet long. Hayes has a long ways to go offensively, but at the NEO Top 20 combine he showed much improved finishing skills. Hayes is a guy you’ll probably have to wait on to develop into his body but he has a really high ceiling with his physical tools.
