Continue ReadingChristmas has come a month earlier. The class of 2021 was already one of the deepest in recent state history, and now many of those talented prospects have made it official by signing on the dotted line. In this article, we take a look at the local players that have signed their NLI.
Ethan Speaker Ethan Speaker 6'6" | SF Boulder City | 2021 State NV 6’6 SF Boulder City (#7) – Speaker who was featured in my 3A standouts article, might have been a mid to high major guy if it wasn’t for the shutdown. As it is Arkansas Little Rock got an absolute steal in the 6’6 scoring machine. Speaker led 3A last season averaging over 25ppg.
Will McClendon Will McClendon 6'4" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2021 State #42 Nation NV 6’3 SG Bishop Gorman (#3) – Great synergy here as the 3-time state champion made it official yesterday, inking his NLI to play for the 11 time National Champions. Besides providing winning experiences, McClendon’s shooting, playmaking and defense should fit in well with coach Cronin and the Bruins.
Zaon Collins Zaon Collins 6'0" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2021 #37 Nation NV 6’0 PG Bishop Gorman (#2) – The entire city of Las Vegas is ecstatic with the signing of “Sauce”. Collins is an uber-athletic PG that changes the tempo of the game with his speed. He was a must get for the Rebels, and I was fortunate to catch up with him last month to talk about why UNLV was the right fit for him.
Azavier Johnson Azavier Johnson 6'4" | CG Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV 6’4 CG Faith Lutheran (#6) – Johnson is a player whose stock may continue to rise. He’s one of the youngest players in the class of 2021, yet already has a college-ready frame. He has great size for a combo guard, and his handle, passing, and vision may allow him to transition into a point guard at some time during his college career. His signing to UTSA was a huge get for the Roadrunners, as he has All-Conference type potential.
Frankie Collins Frankie Collins 6'2" | PG Coronado | 2021 State #58 Nation NV 6’2 PG Coronado (#4) – Collins didn’t sign yesterday, he was too busy putting his explosive scoring and athletic ability on display during a nationally televised game. When he makes it official, he will join perhaps the #1 recruiting class in the nation at Michigan.
Coleman Lemke Coleman Lemke 6'7" | PF Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV 6’7 SF Faith Lutheran (#19) – Highlighting the depth of the 2021 class is Coleman Lemke Coleman Lemke 6'7" | PF Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV . Only a few short years ago, he was a 6’3 PG, now he’s a 6’7 forward with guard-like skills, his commitment to Eastern Washington gives the Eagles a true sleeper that will have a positive impact on the program.
