#17 Joshua Roberts Joshua Roberts 6'5" | SF M.B.A. | 2023 State TN (M.B.A.)
In his freshman year, Joshua Roberts Joshua Roberts 6'5" | SF M.B.A. | 2023 State TN served as an exceptionally versatile defender alongside scoring stars Will Montana Will Montana 6'3" | SG MBA | 2021 State TN and Miles Versa Miles Versa 5'11" | PG MBA | 2021 State TN . He earned his starting position with effort and the natural gift of size. This lofty ranking was earned through a handful of performances, primarily during the 2019-2020 season [Roberts elected to bypass the 2020 AAU season for health precautions]. During those evaluations, Roberts showed off incredible lateral mobility. When identifying the “survival-ability” of a 6-foot-5 player in this grand game, I always consider…’Could they possibly play the 2/3 after high school?’ If the answer is no, then I get very hesitant about ranking them favorably for the college game is not friendly to sub 6-foot-6 power forwards. The NBA even less so. Roberts is NOT in danger of fading into obscurity anytime soon because he can defend the perimeter, thus making him a potential college wing. Roberts’ leg strength and mental determination set him apart as a high school freshman. The shooting touch is not there yet. The handle is ok, but will be forced to improve in the next three years. College wing is the goal and college wing is attainable with the right focus. Roberts is a class player with devoted parents and wonderful teammates/coaches.
Roberts displayed an already elite perimeter defensive mindset. Couple this with Roberts’ bizarrely powerful legs, specifically quads/hamstrings and you have a sophomore likely to eventually dress for a D2+/D1 basketball team. Last winter, Roberts gifted M.B.A. with a strong interior defense, a serviceable passer, and a reliable, albeit novice post threat.
#18 Keelan Jackson Keelan Jackson 6'4" | SF Tyner Academy | 2023 State TN (Tyner Academy/We Get Buckets)
Keelan Jackson Keelan Jackson 6'4" | SF Tyner Academy | 2023 State TN spent July and August of 2020 shocking opponents with versatility whilst standing a promising 6-foot-3 Jackson’s promise lies in the fact that he makes open shots with ease. For example, the second week of September 2020 KJ comfortably buried 6 of 6 from 12′ while practicing. Sure this highlight was purposely selected by his supporter to showcase KJ in the best light, but full games in July/August revealed the same velvety soft touch. KJ’s ultimate position will be dictated by his eventual height. Lean and lithe, KJ appears to still be growing.
Of the entire exciting We Get Buckets squad, Keelan appears the most projectable long-term. Tall, rangy, average to above average athleticism. Keelan showcases a dazzling shooting touch out to 18′.
#19 Judah Sault Judah Sault 6'5" | SF Cleveland | 2023 State TN (Cleveland)
Ideal height for his ultimate position. Judah is a mercurial player at his young age, though his physical gifts and natural athleticism make him a bankable prospect. Sault played primarily the 2/3 with a wonderful, largely guard-driven Fastbreak 15u AAU team. JS’ mid-range and offensive energy conjoined nicely.
#20 Jacob Page Jacob Page 6'2" | SG Ensworth (football) | 2023 TN (Ensworth)
Jacob Page Jacob Page 6'2" | SG Ensworth (football) | 2023 TN was featured late summer during our Film Room series. Page is not up to 6-foot-3 with wonderful hops serving him as a starring guard and football receiver. In the last six months, Jacob really added muscle to his upper back and shoulders. The football training is helping him grow into the college 2-guard frame early in his high school career.
